Did <body-content>JSP</body-content> use to be a valid setting for SimpleTag?

It seems like is used to be:

http://www.orionserver.com/docs/tutorials/taglibs/16.html

Thanks.

I know nowadays I cannot use JSP inside a SimpleTag. The current specification says so, and if I try to do it anyway, I am getting an exception.

My question was: has it been always like that?

If you look at the link above, from orionserver.com, you can see they are doing exactly that. Seems like to them it's very natural to put a scripltet inside a SimpleTag.

Look at this code:

(taken from here: http://www.orionserver.com/docs/tutorials/taglibs/17.html)

SimpleCatchTag.java

taglib2.0.tld

See? Their example is against the current rules.

BTW, why did they change the rules? I guess just to bewilder the enemy.

Since SimpleTag only appeared with the current specification, I'm not sure how you can assert that the rules have changed. There was no SimpleTag prior to JSP 2.0.

I meant they have changed the rules that you don't publish a tutorial before you bother to run your code samples.

Who is they? Remember, just 'cause someone posts something on the net, doesn't mean it's true.

JSP scriptlets have never been allowed in SimpleTags, so saying that the rules have changed is simply not accurate.

Well they is Magnus Rydin, a co-author of JSP Tag Libraries, and maybe even orionserver.com which let him put his stuff on their website.

"They" claim this code runs like charm on their won server, unless it's a tailored static page.

If Orion server allows this, it is not spec-compliant. Since this has become about the Orion server, rather than general JSP, I've moved it to a more appropriate forum.
