This position is for a take charge leader with strong sales and business development skills. You will showcase our world-class engineering team and build it into the industry's premier source of custom Java development. Strong presentation and writing skills, a thorough understanding of technology and the software development life cycle, and ability to work effectively with marketing and sales executives are all a must. Experience in a Big 5 or Internet development eTransformation company is preferred. Other qualification language to consider: BS/BA in Business, Marketing, or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA preferred. Generally 5 years experience in Internet Technology, consulting, or related field. Previous account management/project management experience preferred. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, i.e., communication and leadership skills. Job Description language: The Vice President of Engineering is reponsible for leading the business development/sales effort for our Java Group. To grow intially, the VP of Engineering will participate in more day-to-day execution of the following, with the intent of hiring a staff after some specific sustainable sales/revenue goals have been met. Success measurements will include: business unit revenue, business unit profit/margin and execution to strategic plan. Day-to-day will include: - Participation in sales calls. - Writing proposals. - Giving and coordinating presentations regarding technical abilities. - Creating/improving processes that improve lead generation, lead close, and lead tracking processes. - Account/channel identification and development. - Identification and management of strategic partnerships (with service companies that provide skills we don't currently possess). - Participation in regularly scheduled business unit management meetings.
