Hi,

We are planning to develop an web application which has a tight relationship with Sybase DB. The project is a medium sized. I would like to know which is the better testing tool to use. It should be very easy to use and should be able to assist right from unit testing of individual modules to performance testing once we are ready to implement at production scale.

JUnit is the de-facto standard for Java unit testing, with lots of tool support and a huge community. There are also extensions for performance testing, but I've never used them, so I can't comment.

You don't neccessarily want to use the same tool for unit testing as performance testing. For unit testing, JUnit is the standard.

For integration testing, you can use plain JUnit or JUnit with Cactus or JWebUnit.

For performance testing, you often want end to end testing under load like LoadRunner.
