Are you aware of any reliable published results related to projects adopting test-driven development methodology. Typically the sort of figures I'd be interested in are related to productivity, e.g. it took us 'Y' fewer weeks to implement, or the number of reported bugs fell to 'Z' %.

Well, have been studies and the results range from "somewhat worse" to "much better". The problem is, as usual, that the studies only examine a very limited set of individuals and projects and most often the programmers are undergraduate students with little or no experience with programming for a living.

In short, I wouldn't put too much value on this kind of academic research.
