We are currently assisting our clients, an internet start-up utilizing patent-pending technology, with their search for a Senior Software Developer in Pennsylvania.
Full time
$80k-$90k
Summary: Designs, implements, and tests software subsystems and components.
The responsibilities are as follows:
Analyzes requirements for software components. Designs software components, using standard design methods to meet the functional and non-functional requirements. Implements, tests, and documents components to ensure conformance to the requirements. Participates in design reviews and conducts code walkthroughs. Provides assistance and routine consultation to users and peers. Consults to other developers on design and implementation tasks, ensuring that generally accepted programming standards and techniques are followed. Researches new techniques and technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness of software development. May be involved in research and development activities regarding discovery of new technologies. Ensure conformance to standard practices.
The requirements are as follows:
Working knowledge of object-oriented design and development methodology. 2 - 4 years Java programming language and environment. Familiarity with J2EE standards, including but not limited to, Enterprise Java Beans, Servlets, and Java Server Pages. Experience using a web application server (i.e. Netscape Application Server, WebLogic, WebSphere, IIS). Front-end web development experience in building applets using Swing/AWT, HTML, Java script.
Experience using a Java development environment, such as Jbuilder and Visual Caf�. Experience using a RDBMS, JDBC, PL/SQL or Transact SQL, Oracle, UNIX, Windows NT, XML, LDAP. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and three to five years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Java certification is an asset.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in written and oral communications. Demonstrate a pro-active, open communication style. Proven ability to develop and maintain professional business relationships. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment toward the job and mission of company.
Demonstrated capacity for organization, prioritization, and attention-to-detail in a dynamic environment.
Ability to work individually with no supervision, while being team-oriented. Ability to identify and pursue new ideas, ways of doing things, and solutions to problems or challenges. Strong personal drive and initiative.
Demonstrated ability to execute responsibilities on time.
