hi ranchites,
i am scjp(for which iwould be always thankful to javaranch), would like to give IBM test No:486 i.e OOAD with UML.
can any body guide me best possible way & resources available to prepare( apart from what have been provided at IBM site) considering the fact that i have no work experience in software development.
waiting for u'r advice/suggestion.

Hello Vishal,
The exam is available for free till dec 31st 2k at IBM site.
First, check out www.jcert.org. That'll provide the context within which the OOA/D + UML exam fits.
Specifically on http://www.jcert.org/level2.html you'll find a very brief list of the objectives.
Here's where IBM lists the complete objectives: http://www-4.ibm.com/software/ad/certify/obj486a.html
From that page there are links to suggested readings for self-study, and a pre-assessement/sample test.
You'll also find information on taking the certification test for free on this page: http://www-4.ibm.com/software/ad/certify/freecertification2.html
