I was a bartender and hoping to someday make it to higher ranks but somehow I've been demoted back down to greenhorn. How come?

I dunno Joseph. The software must be getting goofy on us.
The only way to be a bartender is if you are nominated and we modify the settings to make you a bartender.

When you were "demoted" from bartender, you returned to your greenhorn status. But since you posted a time or two immediately after that, you were promoted to ranch hand because you crossed the line (30 posts) that divides those two. You will be a ranch hand permanently now (unless you get nominated to a higher position). You should never be a greenhorn again unless you register anew.
