Hi all,
IBM486 (OOAD with UML) is part of Level 2 JCert exam. Other exam can be on of the vendor IDE (JDeveloper, VisualAge, etc.).
If any of you are planing to pass (or have already passed) any of the other exams, can you tell me how valuable and how much effort would be required to pass the JDeveloper exam? Any recomended reources?
Or, is there a better direction (instead of taking JDeveloper exam) after IBM486?
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Check out cwicertified.com This is a series of exams which include SCJP and the OOAD-UML exam. Other exams are Internet Foundatiions, Perl, JavaScript,Database concepts and on EJBs. The exam of interest would be the CWI Enterprise Developer

Merlin,
I have done JDeveloper one, but frankly telling you that JDeveloper is a third class piece of software and one won't to like to use it other then when working only of Oracle Database, after all it crashes so often.
Have you already done IBM-486 ?

Aman,
Do you know how much JDeveloper is used in the industry? Did you take this exam as part of some certification? If so, why was this your choice?
I have a lot of Oracle background. And I plan to continue with Oracle for back end services. That is the reason I was thinking of sticking on to Oracle products, asuming that companies that have shops based on Oracle would prefer to use Oracle IDE. But, if JDeveloper has such a bad reputation that few companies use, I would not go for it.
No, I did not take the IBM 486 test. I am currently preparing for it. Some times I get so tired of the dryness of the subject, I like to combine preparing for other exams.
Thanks.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
