Hello I am new to this board and want to get UML certified . I have a few questions I would like to get answered very much, 1. Do we get a Certificate or just a score card ? i.e Is this is a stand-alone certification ? If not, where does this stand in the scheme of things ? 2. Are all the questions multiple choice with pass score 70% ? 3. Is 486 the only/best UML test/Certification out there ?
Hi umltester I am also studing for the UML cert. As far as I know, yes we do get a certificate as I've recieved mine from IBM for my XML cert. Yes the questions are all multiple choice but the pass mark is 67%, which is to say you have to get 38 answers correct out of the 56 on the test. You will have 135 minutes to write. As far as I know, 486 is the only, and therefore the best, UML test out there. For more info go to the "ICE" test at https://certify.torolab.ibm.com/display_tests_ad.jsp Have fun and good luck. Rob Nice (SCJP2, IBM XML)
"umltester" Please take a moment to review the JavaRanch Naming Policy then edit your profile so that your display name conforms to the rules. Thanks for your cooperation. The IBM OOAD-UML Exam 486 is a prerequisite of other certification exams that IBM offers and I believe it is also required for certain JCert exams. Junilu Lacar
