Hi,
I have recently experienced the problem of not being able to read the Javaranch newsgroup on my Win98 SE machine. When I click on any of the postings in the newsgroup, it complains that it has performed an illegal operation. It happens on both IE 5.5 and Netscape 4.73. I tried to repair my IE using the repair function in the add/remove programs in the control panel but the problem still exists.Any ideas how to solve this problem ?
Thanks.

What does the "SE" stand for?
I know I have used Win98 a bazillion times accessing JavaRanch without any trouble. Maybe it has to do with the "SE"

Hi Peter,
I have not installed the Service Pack 1 for IE 5.5. I will download and install it and see whether it solves my problem. Thanks.
