Hi:
I took the test this afternoon and passed with 85%. The exam is not hard. You just need to understand two books and one mock exam. But reading books for just one time seems not enough, I did 2.5 on UML distilled and 1.5 on Larman's book (0.5 here means quick ones). Right before the exam, I also went over all the charts on both books. And of course, some common sense, or work experience will be defintly helpful.
A lot of thanks to all the ranchers.

Hi Don,
Congratulation on your passing the exam.

But reading books for just one time seems not enough, I did 2.5 on UML distilled and 1.5 on Larman's book (0.5 here means quick ones).

I'm going to prepare 486 now. What's the full name of the two books you referred above? Where can I get them?
Thank you,

John Lee

Hi Tony:
Please refer to IBM site for detail regarding the two books (Item 2 and 3),
http://www-1.ibm.com/certify/tests/edu486.shtml
You can get them from local bookstore, or borrow from library. If you are not in a hurry, you can also order on line, sometimes you can get pretty good deal.
Regards,
Don
