What do you mean by competitor?
There are some "degenerated" forms of the MVC, like the M-UI used in the Swing library.

There is also Model View Presenter, another alternative: http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?ModelViewPresenter
Calling it a *competition* to MVC is like calling ArrayList a competition to HashMap, though

My favorite competitor would be "Big Ball of Mud", which is in fact in the lead in all measurements...
