Other than Fowler and Larman suggested for IBM test486, can someone suggest some other good books for additional reading. Also please suggest some good books for a beginner to understand the "unified process"

You should see the
bunkhouse. And if you are looking for a book (and not web links), a good (but sometimes tedious) introduction is Kruechten's "The Rational Unified Process an Introduction: An Introduction" book

I have a Unified Modeling Language Reference Manual by 3 Amingo. It is a good book.
