Folks,
After having gotten a lot of blank looks about a subject that I thought should be obvious, I wrote an article for IBM DeveloperWorks on Simulated DataSources. Believe it or not, the topic first came up at the XP Universe 2001 when I was discussing testing with a bunch of XP practitioners and found that none of the Java folks (but ALL of the ex-Smalltalk folks) used this particular approach. So I I'd like your opinion on it -- is this a new idea to people, or have I just been dealing with some folks who just didn't get it?

I think it's something from both. Once you have some experience using Mockobjects, the approach becomes quite obvious, IMHO. But obviously there are also many developers not having that experience...

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
