There's some fun going on in Jason's "mental roadblock" thread right now, and a steady flow of other questions.
I don't reckon this forum is dying !

Specifically, the flow of messages seems to be rather constant (compared with a random page selected of about a year ago). It is also *much* more active than the Process forum...

Same as Don. I learnt a lot from this forum right from the time when i took my SCJP2 back in April 2001. Its a place to learn the concepts from knowledgable people.

This is the best forum on JavaRanch. Mr. Kiddick & Mr. Pulaparty are absolutely right. Java syntax, packages, APIs, frameworks, products, using an IDE - the answer to these questions are always a Google or text book away. Good design, abstract ideas that are the true foundation for making industrial strength J2ee applications work in the real world - this cannot be done in a vacuum entirely by oneself. This forum proves indispensable as a place where developers can get answers to the really important Sys. Dev. questions. I'm always eager to read and post to this forum, before any other discussion group at JavaRanch.
Mr. Preuss and Co., I tip my hat to you...

i agree 100%. but just wondering whey there is less than 3 postings per day . i agree that this forum is still alive but [re-read the title] . When browsing thr' the history , i have seen, even God visisted/frequented here (.Martin Fowler). But this forum is getting real isolated as there is no one around . Only some lone travellers down the road like us .....
God bless this forum!
Thanks for all your comments

If the number of forum posts are an indication of how important a forum is, then Meaningless Drivel is 4 times as important as this one!
So to aid in your quest, I just posted 3 messages here today
