Position Title: Software Developer
Position Description: Software Developers are our deepest technical resource. They are experts in leading edge technologies like Java, EJB, and Web programming. Working in small teams, they have complete ownership of their products from start to finish. Because of this, we are looking for extremely talented coders who also have strong experience with Object Oriented Design (Booch, Rumbaugh, UML etc.), Relational Database schema modeling and design, and Client Server application design (two-tier and three-tier) to join our team. This combination of coding and design skills allows developers to drive the development process at each stage, culminating in the delivery of packaged products for our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Working with the Human Computer Interface group (HCI) and Program Manager to define the specification and technology involved in each project.
- Developing software in small teams using cutting-edge technologies, with an emphasis on Web development (JAVA, EJB, DHTML, XML, etc.).
- Using our development process to support both internal and external customers, continuously tracking issues and progress.
- Providing technical edits and reviews for the documentation team, as well as creating release notes and migration manuals.
- Using object-oriented frameworks provided by the Quality Engineering team to develop use-case/functional tests.
Requirements:
- Software Developers should have at least 2-4 years of experience with the following technology skills in commercial product development:
- Java or C++ Development lifecycles
- Object oriented design skills (Java Beans)
- Web Platform technologies (EJB, CORBA, COM/DCOM)
- Web scripting technologies (HTML, ASP, JSP)
- Development Process Tools (compilers, profilers, version control systems, automated testing tools)
Additional capabilities desired
- SQL and experience with relational database design and development (Oracle, Sybase, Informix, DB/2, SQL Server)
- GUI Development in any language (Visual Basic, MFC, Java/AWT, etc.)
Locations: Austin, New York, Chicago, San Francisco
Salary: $85k - $150k, depending on experience
