The candidate will design, create, implement and maintain complex computer software systems across a variety of operating systems and programming languages. The candidate will primarily construct secure Internet/Web transactional applications in Java, HTML, JavaScript and Sybase supporting various initiatives within the PC Web Direct product. The candidate will develop systems using the following equipment: PC�s running NT operating system, Sun machines running Solaris Unix, and Sybase database. The specific skills required include Sun Java Certification, web server administration, web application server administration, strong knowledge of Unix, Sybase stored procedures and knowledge of digital certificates. A thorough knowledge of Web authoring skills is also required; the candidate will demonstrate web sites they have created using HTML, DHTML and JavaScript. Exposure to the full project life cycle is required. On-the-job experience required in the following specific development tools- JDK 1.1.7, JSDK 2.1.1, Kawa, JBuilder or comparable Java IDE, PVCS, and RapidSql (or comparable Database development GUI tool). While not a requirement for this position, preference will be given to candidates with experience in C++, SSL, XML or SAX, Stylesheet languages (CSS minimum; also XSL preferable), N-tier client server development, financial applications (especially Funds related applications). The candidate must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal. All candidates are expected to demonstrate strong teamwork skills and a commitment to ownership of area of functionality. In addition to the above-required qualifications, the candidate must have a BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Electrical Engineering and have at least two (2) years of on-the-job programming experience
