Among the list of possibly many addresses for Person; I would like to model the fact that one of the Address is the default. How do I do that in UML ?

why dont u have a boolean attribute in Address class?

I would probably show two associations, one with multiplicity 1 and role "defaultAddress" and another with multiplicity * and role "optionalAddresses" or something.
