We didnt come across any such browser specific thing in the code base (which includes flash as well). We were wondering if it were to do with the some configuration options on the server side.

About the number of calls, its 15 GETs and 15+ POSTS in IE6.

Hi

We are analyzing an issue and thought of checking if anyone has already comeacross/fixed such issue.

In brief, we have our application running with - Apache/2.2.6 (Unix) , mod_ssl/2.2.6 , OpenSSL/0.9.8f, mod_jk/1.2.28. In IE, the page takes very long time to load but in firefox it is very quick.

A few quick observations from HTTP Analyzer when we hit the https url

Request line: GET with HTTP 1.1
Response Status: HTTP/1.1 in Firefox & HTTP/1.0 in IE

Request Header Connection: Keep Alive
Response Header Connection: Keep-Alive in Firefox & Close in IE

Cache-Control - no-cache in IE

We are suspecting one or the combination of the above differences to be causing the issue. Could these be the reason for delay ? Any thoughts/suggestions ?

On the other hand, we were wondering about the differences in response header parameters in IE vs Firefox.

Thanks in advance

Yes. Most of the architects draw what was quoted by others in this thread.

In brief - An Enterprise Architect - will have to play the key role in the architecture of a new product. Must be a guru in architecture & the latest J2EE technology stack.

1. Refresh whatever you worked on
2. Work on some opensource projects
3. Before attending an interview, understand what the company is looking for and review those areas.

Your reaction is quite natural here. Neither I'm joking nor I'm embarking myself on a meaningless drive. To add further, I have completely accurate data
Its hard to digest, what I stated is fact and there *are* a very few companies which pay such salaries - you can count them on fingers.

Yes, why not. I'm not kidding. Such opportunities appear once in blue moon.

There are some openings where they look for gurus, with inclination towards a pure technical role. If you are one of those, you have a fair chance of reaching you dream. If money is your target, then you'll have to keep an eye on small/mid sized product based companies.

As its already said, you have to make the decision.

If you feel you are not getting the work of your choice then speak to your manager and his manager if necessary. If you don't get a positive response or if you feel you cannot realize your dreams in the current workplace, switching the job is the right thing.

Im trying to install Weblogic 8.1.3. When I execute the installable, I see an error "Could not extract the archive since it is corrupted. Error code=50". However, using the same installation file, when we try installing on another system with same hardware configuration we don't see this error.

Does any have suggestions/workarounds to overcome this problem ?

Thanks in advance.

Mr Reddy wrote:Could you please tell me, how is openings in Bangalore present

Openings are there but the companies are very selective these days. As you have Springs and Struts in your profile, you might get greater attention.

The right time to change depends on you. Its better to analyze the pros and cons and make a decision.

In theory, we have a clear distinction between supervisor and mentor but in practice, the distinction is generally forgotten based on the organization structure, project requirements or for some other reasons.

Jeanne Boyarsky wrote:Hm. I guess I see this has helping and hot actually holding the authority.

By authority, if you meant the authority to evaluate and promote professional growth, it still lies with the supervisor. However, if a supervisor has 25+ reports, in such instances it would be impossible to keep a check on the day to day work (which could account for certain level of authority given to the mentor in getting the work done).

Jeanne Boyarsky wrote:I think a GOOD supervisor does serve as a mentor though. Whether he/she calls it that or not.

IMO, the supervisor should pickup another person as the mentor. If the supervisor himself/herself is the mentor then it could impact the performance of a mentee in the day to day activities.
