Hi all,

I have a problem with the JasperReport text exporter, it gives me an unformatted report (my report is a final product and need that it looks very well).

The pdf exporter works fine but I need that the user can modify the report.

How can I improve the text exporter?

Do you know some program that can convert rtf to text or rtf to word in a good way?

Thanks in advance

Hi all,

I can't execute a mysql's stored procedure from JasperReport. Can you give an example? .... when I type the "call sp()" in iReport it says the following message : "SQL Problem: procedure xxxxx can't return a result set in the given context".

Thanks in advance.
Hi Richard,

I have tried with that way too and nothing change ... I think that the problem is with the Tomcat, because I have installed the iReport and it can export my reports to TXT .... but the Tomcat just send 12 blank lines.

I have copied the whole "lib" directory from iReport to my Tomcat's project and it did not fix it.

I am a little frustrated for this .
Hi all,

I am working with JasperReport in my web application (generating pdf files) but now my client wants a Text file output. I have tried with the JRTextExporter but it generates just 12 blank lines in the txt file .. (I have tried with the rtf exporter and it gives me a blank file too)!!!.

I am using the jasperreports-1.2.4.jar

PLEASE HELP ME, because I am getting upset for this.

My code is:
JRTextExporter exporter = new JRTextExporter();
exporter.setParameter(JRExporterParameter.JASPER_PRINT, jasperPrint);
exporter.setParameter(JRExporterParameter.OUTPUT_FILE_NAME, "c:\\borra1.txt");
exporter.setParameter(JRTextExporterParameter.CHARACTER_WIDTH, new Integer(200));
exporter.setParameter(JRTextExporterParameter.CHARACTER_HEIGHT, new Integer(50));

Thanks in advance,
Hi all,

do you know if Tomcat can put data at its cache? I want to keep some tables in cache in order the clients queries for some tables do not have to go to the database every time.

How can I do that?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Friends,

I have a problem with the number format at Jasper. It is not taken the "regional setting" from Linux.

I want to the numbers be shown as : 333,333.33 but when I run jasper at linux it shows : "333.333,33" .

How can i force the jasper (with a function or something) in order to shows the number as the way that I want without care the server where it is running?

(This problem was happened in Java too, but I solved using the DecimalFormat with the US Locale, but i dont know how apply this in Jasper).

Thanks in advance.
The problem is that I am running Jasper Report for my application and it is not formating the number as the "regional setting" ... are there some "global" java parameter to do this?

Hi all,

I have a problem with my web application in Linux (White Box 4). The DecimalFormat that I am using does not take into account the "regional setting". The linux have the numeric format as : "12,123,123.45" (which I wanted), but when I executed the following sentence it returns "12.123.123,45" !!!.

java.text.NumberFormat df=java.text.DecimalFormat.getCurrencyInstance(java.util.Locale.US);

How can I force to the right format? it is not supposed to be taken from the operating system?.

PS. If I run my application in a windows server it works fine.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Ben,

I was using the "inline" tag, the problem with the "attachment" tag is that an action's confirmation window appears (save as, open, etc)... My app's users have not a good level and I need to that window does not appear.

I tried with the "target" tag (HTML) but the problem was with the submit() method because it takes the fields from the new window and not from the "main" window.

Hi guys,

I am sending a pdf file from a servlet(application/pdf) but when the acrobat reader shows, I can close it without close my application window. How can I show a "close" button in the Acrobat or show the pdf in a new window?.

Thanks in advance.

The problem with the target attribute is that the submit action do not found the fields at the main windows because the new window is shown and the fields are at the main one .
Hi all,

I have the following code that show a pdf file in the window that did the submit, but I want that this file be shown in a new window ... how can I do that?

Thanks in advance.

bytes = JasperRunManager.runReportToPdf(reportFile.getPath(), new HashMap(), new JREmptyDataSource());
servletOutputStream.write(bytes, 0, bytes.length);
