Hi Guys

Whats your opinion on this free tool.

is it worth using in a project?
Hi laxmi

Did u found any online resource ?
please post it here

Whose responsibility is that architect or PM or admin?

I didnt see Ajith s post before posting hens i deleted mine.

Am i missing something.

my position is some what like Laxmi .Now i am totally seeing laxmi post i thaught she is looking for some guidense regarding architect responsibilities and analysys, design concerns, how to proceed .

As she expressed her concern about marc cade book sample design is not enough for part2 ,first of all i should know what is enough for design[analysys].

I cleared part 1 recently .now i am reading
Applying Use Case Driven Object Modeling with
UML: An Annotated e-Commerce Example
it gives me some idea how to do .isnt that what she wants???

check create methods in Home Interface.
lifecycles then it will very clear to u

Hi Madhav,

I am preparing for part I, going through Paul book. Can you tell me what is wrong with that book and the chapters?

Hi vijay

everything in the boook .it was badly written for SCEA objectives.

Starting with common arch ,security.....specially legacy connectivity giving c++ connector example [with out mentioning legacy aspects]

i started with that book ,wasted some time after that MARK CADE very good idea about SCEA objective s and what you should know .

best of luck to your part1

Congrats Madhav!!!

Can you tell me what books/materials you used for preparation?

Hi vivek

1 Mark Cade book.
2 SCBCD guide by manning [even though i am not taking SCBCD ,i found this is convinient for j2ee aspects of SCEA]
3 UML Distilled Martin Fowler.
4 Design patterns by Gang of four

5 SCEA study guile paul allen et all[dont go for this]

Whizlabs i found very useful.
some notes in scea yahoo groups n Ranch links .

do as many mocks as available thats helps.

best of luck for your part 1

Thank You very much guys

Thank you very much ranchers

I cleared part 1 with 83% yesterday.

ContainerModel -------------25%
Design patterns ------------60%
Security -------------------50%
Legacy Connectivity --------60%

i am not too happy about getting 25% in Conainer Model .rest are my weak areas so didnt mind at all.

There are some post s in the forum saying you dont have to be pro for part 1 anybody can clear with real question mocks available online.

i dont know about this argument in my case i am truly haapy it gave me Feel Good factor as i know my weak areas and work on it.more over better understnding what we are doing why we doing.

before part2 i would like to go for IBM OOAD UML any suggestions?

1. session with dao, because of performance, reduced overhead

i am not too sure about DAO REDUCES overhead. stateless session beans nofluffjustuff n cheaper in terms of resources.

2 .Readonly data and batch processing dont need container callbacks
can use stateless beans for this purpose.

please correct me if i am wrong.

3. SSL below application protocal[hhtp or what ever app protocal]
applet can not send or connect ,signed or not ,other than originated server
EJB supports both declarative n programmatic.

declarative in ejb-jar.xml <transaction-type>,<transaction-attribues>rs

EJB container provide 6 primary services ,Transactions is one of them

check EJBContext interface [having 3 transaction related methods 1 for BMT 2 for CMT] extended by SessionContext,EntityContext,MessageDrivenContext. depending on the bean kind u will set the context.

Originally posted by Laxmi:
What is Container managed transaction and bean managed transactions?

2 types of transactions .CMT container will take care,BMT you can useUserTransaction interface to demark the transaction

Which type of ejbs (session, entity, message driven) implement them?

Session,Message beans can partcipate CMT BMT
Entity only CMT

What's the imapact of them on each bean type?

In which context each is used?

Pls specify the answers for the above. It will be a great help to me.

What's reverse proxy load balancing and when it is used?

A technique used to target certain requests to certain backend servers, e.g. All Servlet requests from one server. All static HTML from another.

Reverse proxy load balancing is generally used when you have servers with different amounts of CPUs and Memory. You might use powerful servers for SSL sessions and others tohandle static html.

What's meant by active replication & passive replication?

Active Replication : each replica is identical to the main service and attempts to service each request.
An interceptor is used to block extra responses. [ Hot Backups]

Passive Replication : the primary service handles all requests. The state of the replicas is periodically synchronized.
In the event that the primary service fails, one of the replicas takes over after its state is
synchronized [Warm Backups].
