i want to thank everyone here and of course the great people who maintain other java related websites (marcus green, maha, etc). for those of you that are getting ready to take the exam. i recommend doing the following steps:
1- just start writing code, start with the simple 'hello world' and when you can program a simple game( i used blackjack ) then start studying for the certification
2- study for the certification with 2 certification study books. plus look over marcus's(jchq.net) tutorials and maybe javaprepare.com's tutorials on the topics. plus look through a lot of dicussions here at javaranch.
3- take the mock exams. to this the last 10-14 days before you take the exam. as you miss questions on the mocks go back and re-study those topics from your books and notes. keep taking these until you are getting 75-85% on these. i was getting about 70-75% on jqplus, 80-85% on marcus's tests, and i got a 83% on the Sun test.
anyway, thanks again for all your help. and good luck to anyone getting ready for the test. let me tell you it feels great to cross this hurdle.

t.join// will not even compile the correct syntax should be t.join()
join will instruct the JVM to execute t until it dies. however, i am not sure if it will get started unless the scheduler decides to run it.
any help on if join will start a thread?
From everyones experiences and perpectives, what is the difficulty rating of JQPlus vs. the Sun Exam. I know JQPlus has different toughness ratings, which one is more similar to the level of toughness of Sun's Exam.
Also, does everyone really feel that you shouldn't take the Sun Exam until you are consistantly getting 85% + on Mocks? Aren't most Mocks harder? And since you only need a 61% to pass Sun do you really need such a high level on the mocks?
I would love to hear from people reply and talk about what they were getting on Mocks (and which Mocks) and what they got on the Sun Exam.
Thanks...

I ordered the questions for JQPlus more than 24 hours ago and I have not heard one response from them. The only thing I have received is the immediate email showing me my tracking number. I have emailed regsoft and jqplus trying to figure out what the hold up is. regsoft has yet to reply to my request. has anyone else had problems with regsoft or with getting jqplus?
I can run applets from my SDK but not applications.
I pasted this into a .java file
public class HelloWorld
{
public static void main( String args[] )
{
System.out.println("hello world!");
}
}

and this is the error i get:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: HelloWorld
Any help would greatly be appreciated.
