Hi,

Howcan I write an script which has start/stop/status option including a program for example " Top" where I start as background process.

I tried this
==============================

#!/bin/bash
top
==========================
It's work but when I entered:

#!/bin/bash
top &

=======================
I got this error:

./test: line 3: top & : command not found
===================================

Overall my main question is how can I write script . I've an script for weblogic as " startWebLogic.sh" and I copied the script to /etc/init.d
and /etc/rc3.d and made an symbolic link like:

code:ln-s /opt/bea/domains/admin/startWebLogic.sh /etc/rc3.d/S90startWeblogic

but the problem is that I don't know how can I stop the program or restart it again.command kill it's not suitable to do that.
any help?

Hi,

We've Weblogic in our Linux server.I can start Admin server manually by using an script "startWebLogic.sh". But now I have been asked to start admin server while system boots. So I need to write an script for that and put it in /etc/init.d/rc3.d.
I have no idea whatsoever how should I do it.

Any help?

Thanks,

Thanx for your reply, But You khnow what? I know I've that script (startWebLogic.sh) but I'll use when I want to start Admin server manually. What I want to know is how can I start Admin server or one of the instants server at boot time. Which means I always have admin server running.

If is something to do with same script, Please tell me how can I do it?

Regards.

Hi,

My question is related to weblogic version 8.1.4, Is there anyway to start admin server at boot time by using an script. precisely I mean in need to know how can I write an script and run it as service in run level 3, I'm using redhat os.

I'll be very much appreciate if someone can solve my problem.
I'm not a programmer though.
