Hi,
I have downloaded tomcat3.2.1 but couldn't install it properly. I unzipped it in c:\jakarta-tomcat\...
On my system Java is installed in C;\JDK1.3, so in startup.bat and shutdown.bat,after the line
if not "%TOMCAT_HOME%" == "" goto start
I added the two lines:
SET JAVA_HOME=C:\JDK1.3
SET TOMCAT_HOME=C:\jakarta-tomcat
and made the same changes to shutdown.bat.
After this, In autoexec.bat I have set the path:
SET PATH=c:\jdk1.3\jre\lib;c:\jdk1.3\jre\bin;c:\jdk1.3\bin;
I added and updated the CLASSPATH:
C:\jakarta-tomcat\lib\servlet.jar
C:\jakarta-tomcat\lib\jasper.jar
After creating shorcut of startup and shutdown.bat and setting their memory to 4096,when I clicked on the startup icon I got some error message like:
Unable to set CLASSPATH dynamically.
Note: To set the CLASSPATH dynamically on Win9x systems
only DOS 8.3 names may be used in TOMCAT_HOME!
Setting your CLASSPATH statically.

Stephanie added UBB tags to make the code more readable.
In Policy file I have written down :
grant {
permission AllPermission;
};
and saved it in jre'Security folder as per said by Mateen.
Firstly, I saved it where my program is saved
See,what's wrong here? What's the required step I am missing?
Thanx
Neeta

Hello
I have recently cleared SCJP exam and it is my first post in this forum .I have created an applet and wanted to pick some images from an URL. Everything is OK . I have made a java.policy file for it also.But I think that I couldn't store it at proper place as when I run it in appletviewer It gives me an error "java.security.AccessControlException:Access Denied"
On command prompt window I write the command: appletviewer -J-Djava.security.policy=java.policy slides.html
All the related files are stored in MyDocuments.
How to resolve it? please help...
Thanx
