I passed the exam with 86% . Not sure whether this is a good score.. any comments? I prepared for less than 1 month, so could not do lots of mock tests, anyways i'm done with it...

I used Manning study kit, which is a cute & compact book, can be used if you dont have much time to prepare, much an exam oriented book... Also I went through HFSJ, which explained things in a extremely new and refreshing manner, much as an easy way to remember things by pictures & other nice exercises. Thanks a lot to the authors who has written these great books.

I understood that it is a must to go through the specs & the API. Mock exams too help a lot!

The difference lies in whether you want to use URL rewriting or not. If cookies are disabled, you cannot use cookies to maintain a session, every request to the server would be a fresh one. To overcome this situation, URL rewriting can be used. What URL rewriting does is, with every URL you send to the server, the sessionid will be appended with a semicolon separator like below.

All your urls have to rewritten using encodeURL & if it has to redirected, then encodeRedirectURL method has to be used for rewriting.
1. Copy your .jsp file to webapps/ROOT folder in your Tomcat directory.
2. Start your Tomcat server.
3. Access your jsp using your browser... type http://localhost:8080/<jspfilename>.... change the server & port if required.

I want to create some icons which represents some java applications. All these icons will be on a Frame. By clicking each of the icons, the corresponding application will open up.

Can anyone tell me, is there a way to create such a kind of Frame containing icons and by clicking each of the icons, a particular application opens up.

Thanks & Regards,
