Hi all,

I am facing with a problem reagrding the deployment of EAR files in Jboss 4.0.2.

I have a java class packaged in a Jar that read xml files and this class is bundled in 3 different EAR files.

The EAR deployment contains a WAR, EJB and the above said JAR. The xml files is also bundled with these 3 EARs respectively.

I want the EAR to be isolated form each other.
Used the load-repository in jboss-app.xml. But in vain...

At run time the EAR cannot distinguish between the xml files that it is reading from. One EAR tries to read it from the EAR which was deployed before it rather than reading it from its own deployment.....

Please help

Hi Damanjit,

Can u please tell me the specification of the names that u have mentioned in the jboss-app.xml.
For eg what is the EWSEAR ???
Is it a dummy name or what ?

Yes Exactly Paul,

Thanks for ur efforts of viewing the site to get my point.
Now u see Paul, the text is a normal text as seen after doing a "view source".

But this text is getting changed to have a mouse over which displays a small pop up window with the Add content(link). on clicking this link the user is directed to the advertiser's web site.
Any idea how this is accomplished ?
Hi all,

There are many site presently that have the effect as the one pasted below.
http://www.financialexpress.com/fe_full_story.php?content_id=92456

The page gets rendered normally at first and then after a little while some normal text gets converted to links (<a href> ?

Curious to know if this is achieved by parsing the entire document thr Javascript in the 2nd pass and then deciding on some server o/p on which words (normal text) to show links ???

Contributions on this topic would be appreciated

Jasmine .
Hi All,

The EJB Spec mentions the following :-

"From its creation until its destruction, an entity object lives in a container. Transparently to the client,
the container provides security, concurrency, transactions, persistence, and other services for the entity
objects that live in the container"

What i want to know is how does the container manage the pooling. I mean after the bean is deployed does it load the entire db refered directly into memory and if not then when does it do so ?
Hi All,

I have been working on Java for 8 months now and i am still not able to grasp the Java ClassLoader Funda

Can anyone please explain me the types of Classloaders and when to use which? When do we use the System Class loader and when the getClass.ClassLoader() ?
In case u could provide with useful links, will appreciate.

Thanks for that Valuable Suggestion !!!
Actually i was trying to get something done faster so that crude method.
But i shall keep that in mind.

Anyways i could do it with the following 2 lines of Code:
URL oConfig = getClass().getResource("/config.xml");
oDocument = oDocBuilder.parse(oConfig.toExternalForm());
Hi All,

I have a problem. I have a session Bean (Server: JBOSS) which is parsing an XML file for reading some values. My Problem is that if i package my config.xml inside the META-INF folder, the method of Session bean that reads this xml throws a File Not Found Exception.
After lot of trials and errors i found that Jboss was trying to locate the xml file from the folder C:\JBoss\bin by default. And So i have to explicitly paste the xml file in the bin folder of JBOSS
But i want it to be picked up from my bean's META-INF Folder
How can i acheive that ?

Appreciate if anyone could help.....

I have created a CMP Bean with the following configuration
JBoss 4.0.2 + Postgres 8
The database configuration is successfull (table is created dynamically thr the bean).

The table gets created but the home.create() method doesnt add any record to the database.

Please help !!!
i have successfully completed with my first EJB sample with the help of the following tutorial

Also which server shd be more suitable to use JBoss or Web Logic ?
Jay that was a Good One

Hi All,

All the above Examples except one ( class break{} ) compile fine.
The class break{} give a compilation problem, break being a keyword in Java.
