I have first downloaded the eclipse sdk zip and unpacked it to c:\eclipse, then I later downloaded emf runtime and sdk, gef runtime and visual editor sdk and runtime, and all the downloads where from the visual editor download compartible with my eclipse but I unpacked the gef emf and ve files to c:\
and I deleted all the configurtion files except config.ini, then I launched eclipse, but in the new menu I cant fine visual class and in right click context nothing, but in the help I see visual editor help and in plugins I see the visual editor as ve, but I dont know what is wrong I have searched the web to no avail can some one help me out
well if I must comment then it goes like this. list<? super apple> t tells the compiler that the variable t can hold a list of type that is super to apple or apple itself but also tells it that since it can hold a collection of apple and its fathers whom we dont know permit them to add only subtypes of apple and apple itself since in all the cases they will comply but remember one thing too if it is a treeset then all the elements must be same type
the join method is telling the current running thread or the thread that called the t2.join method to join at the end of t2, and such main method will wait till the t thread completes and dies be4 it can continue execution

well I think both constructs are ok cos these two are all ways to create and anonymous class
but it is suppose to compile since the jvm refers to all methods be4it can consider varargs so I guess it is suppose to print int[]
abc is kept in the string pool and at thesame time it is kept in the heap as the string object, anyways I could be wrong, and as of the gabage collection no idea but I guess if no reference to the string in pool it is to be gabbage collected
I wish to take the scjp 1.5 exam, and I have paid the money already with my testing center but it is not prometric but rather vue, so I need to buy a commercial voucher, so I would like to know how to buy a commercial voucher cos I am in Africa so I need to know how to buy it for usage in Africa and on the sun website they said that one is for the US only and for other contries go to the specific area I went to sub sahara and till date I dont know how to buy it plz help me out if u have an experience spell me out the procedure, need to write it be4 two weeks go by
an Object is a container of methods and variables in object oriented programming, an instance is a living form of the object, that is an instance of an object is the object while it is in use in the application.
well hope my words are explicit, I could be wrong
well (a+b) is adding the two stings objects and passing it in a constructor of a new string and such that a new string object is created which is not equal to the former, remember strings are immutable, but if they were in the pool it will be different
I think u have to override the equals method be4 u can take control of the method in ur own classes that extend the Object class directly
I dont know if I am making a wrong assumption but I am taking this purpose of the exam due saturday, I am thinking that there is a byte pool somewhere in the jvm's memory such that when u assing a byte it reads one of the values there. such that when u are comparing two Integers like

int i=129;
int i2=129;
if(i==i2){
//will never execute;
}

since 129 is not in the pool then an object is created for 129 and those two objects wil not be equal by autoboxing.

The example I am using is from my understanding not tried it but I have tried other things like assigning a byte a value higher than 127 and it does not go, and the same restriction in int values autoboxing so I thought there is a byte pool used in autoboxing need a guru's explanation
well I think anonymous inner classes are created by extending the class u are instantiating and if u define any method that cannot be accessed by the reference type then u cant call the method due to the fact that at compile time the methods that can be called on an object is being determined by the reference type.
please I have read the k and b book chapter on generics but not realy convinced that I know the facts so I need a good online resource where this topic is treated, plz help me cos I am taking scjp 5.0 on saturday so I am am doing some finishing
but Marcus I learnt that when u create a string like this
String s=new String("string");

the 'string' is kept in the pool while it is then refrenced in the string object in other words a string is put in the pool and a string object is created
I think nested interface declaration and classes is available thru this

button.addEventListener(new ActionListener(){
public void actionPerformed(){
//do stuff
}
});

the syntax may be wrong but that is and inner interface being instantiated, and such and interface can be considered to be instantiated and if we use something like WindowAdapter, then that will be a class being instantiated but realy what we are creating is an object that implements the interface
