All would be done in single servlet. I have a scenario of using ThreadPool to store the user requests before persist to database if the number of threads is high enough. And then, at persist time, I will fetch those threads into the running processes.

I want to initialize ThreadPool by the helping hands of init() method within the servlet. I don't even know whether it's a good idea or not. If I set that ThreadPool as static variable in the Servlet, is it easy to get access to it?

Isn't it hard to get something back from ServletContext as the caller is whatever class outside the Container's environment?

Many thanks

I google for some good tutorials and then I see example of using the Servlet and ServletListener classes. I wonder why they place the same jobs in init(ServletConfig cfg) of the Servlet and in contextInitialized(ServletContextEvent event) of the ServletListener.

Wouldn't it be double jobs? Who's going to run first?

I'm trying to utilize the Quartz scheduling tool but getting stuck in ThreadPool issue.

Suppose I want to create my custom Runnable thing and store in the die-hard CustomThreadPool of Quartz itself, does the creator allow users to do so?

Many thanks

As a Java newbie, I always have problem on 'path' thing.

Please anybody tell me some books/articles to read on?

I want to know how the classloader seeks for file/class/resource so I can figure out how to make a right reference to that thing, to prevent FileNotFoundException or ClassNotFoundException.

Many thanks

I know that we have something like EJP for profiling purpose but I wonder if the profiling tool for framework like Axis2 exists in this world. Have you guy tried that thing before? Is it free?

Thanks

I would like to say sorry for that bad word.

You mean I can override the init() method? If there are two of them, one without parameter and another one with SevletConfig as parameter, which one?

Suppose I don't want my servlet to load/start/run if the connection to database server is not satisfied, how can I do that?

Wouldn't it be dreamy to do that magic obstruction to servlet initialization?

Many thanks

Suppose I have:

URL url = MyClass.class.getResource("test.txt");

I notice I can get url if and only if I place 'test.txt' in the same folder wif the compiled MyClass.class.

What if I need to place 'test.text' anywhere else?

Thnx

Many thnx guys.

Another question is the REFLECTION can be considered in the same way as 'VIEW' in Oracle? I mean everything which was get or set through the reflection will not affect the original object?

thnx again

Suppose I create my FileInputStream like this:

in = new FileInputStream("c:/projects/study/college/test/parameters.xml");

, is there any way else to access parameters.xml without using the hardcoded-path that way?
