Today I passed the SCBCD/OCPJBCD with 60%.

For preparation, I just read the O'Reilly book (Bill Burke et al) from start to end. After that I gave the 2 oracle ePractice exams and failed in both of them I was too lazy to read a completely new book after that as I don't have much time outside of work and family. So I just went back and read the O'Reilly book again (just the lines that I had highlighted when I read it the first time) and also read up the EJB SPEC regarding EJB roles. Then I gave the 2 oracle ePractice exams and I barely passed one of them (failed the second). Within a few days of that, I gave the actual sun exam today and got 60%.

I have one feedback to give the people who develop this exam questions. I think you guys are focusing too much on the EJB roles section (bean provider, assembler etc). I remember at least 7 or 9 questions on roles (that is 12 or 13 % of the total number of questions). In an actual work environment in an office, I don't think roles matter that much.

I have some light work experience using EJBs and spring/hibernate.

Hope this experience will be useful to other ranchers.

I was wondering what my next exam should be. I have already completed the web component exam. My final aim is to do the enterprise architect exam. Should I directly do the architect exam? Or should I first do the web services developer exam? Or should I do something else?

All inputs will be appreciated.

Thanks

I got to find out the answer to the above question ; when I wrote the exam today. I got 60% in the actual sun exam. So it is safe to say that the Oracle ePractice exams are of the same level of toughness as the actual exam.
Hello,

I wrote the 2 Oracle ePractice exams for the Business Component developer certification. I only got 50% correct answers in both of the exams.

Are the ePractice exams tougher than the actual certification exam? Or are they the same level?

Thanks
Thanks Ivan. When I tried downloading at my office computer, the link worked and I am able to see your notes. So yeah, some antivirus settings at my home computer is the culprit.

Mikalai, let me follow your links.

Thanks
Hi,

Is there any place where I can download Mikalai's study notes? I saw in the SCDJWS links section that there is an online version. However I prefer to download it and read locally.

Additionally, I tried downloading Ivan's notes from the links given in the SCDJWS links section and I couldn't open the downloaded file. It gave a message about teh file being corrupted. Is there an alternate download site for that too?

Thanks a ton
Hi Viral,

Could you post your methods of preparation; and books read etc for this exam?

ALso, could you let us know your background experience with ejb3 when you gave this exam?

Thanks much.
