Great job opportunity with a company in Northern CA, in Santa Clara. This is with a company involved in developing some cutting edge technology in 3D animation. It is a full time permanent position. US citizenship/ green card required.
The job is as follows:
Senior or Staff Level with minimum requirements:
�MS or PHD in computer science with at least 3+ years of industry related experience- web graphics,
preferably 3D graphics experience
�Object oriented programming using JAVA and/or C++
Candidate will be responsible for setting up the Web software infra-structure for the company.
The scope of tasks includes networking, database, GUI and ecommerce.
Previous exposure to JAVA networking API, JDBC, and Swing components is a plus.
Hiring Manager is looking for Masters or PhD, if from Stanford,Berkley, Cornell, UNC or Georgia Tech that is a plus but most importantly and senior in priority is the 3D animation or graphics experience.

Description:
The senior software engineer is experienced in the design and development of software. This individual has participated in all phases of development in a number of software projects, is proficient in the development of software with little supervision, and has the ability to design and implement a major subsystem within a large scale software project.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Assists with gathering and discovery of requirements.
2. Provides project schedules and milestones to management with minimal coaching.
3. Develops designs based on object-oriented design principles and best practices, which are tailored to the system architecture and are based on product requirements.
4. Promotes and follows software engineering best practices including all phases of the software lifecycle and development of appropriate artifacts (e.g., functional specifications, diagrams, etc.) necessary to understand the designs.
5. Develops code based on the designs laid out in the functional specifications and which conform to software coding best practices, including unit testing.
6. Fluency in one or more major object-oriented programming languages (i.e., Java or C++) and the capability to learn other programming languages as necessary.
7. Assists Quality Assurance (QA) engineers in developing and reviewing test plans.
8. Coaches less experienced engineering staff in the practice of software development.
9. Hold and participate in design and code reviews.

They will typically have extensive expertise and knowledge in this area.
Desirable experience includes:
