Guys,
Thanks for valuable info about IBM 667 exam. I passed the exam yesterday with 80%...As everyone speaks, its more testing the practical knowledge and IBM SOA Foundation. I pretty much read all resources listed in IBM Test Site...and Scnerios were helpful to understand the IBM way of designing the solution for customer requirement.
Good Luck guys!
Hi Vijay, Can you please post [more information]. I am little confused with this exam. Somebody says take some courses SW706/7/8 ...and others say its just waste of time going thru these courses. That will help a lot to understand about the exam and preparation methodology. Appreciate your response. Thanks

Hi, I got into some strange oracle licensing issue in my project.
I wanted to share some intranet corporate data to Internet users. When I design my project in SOA based approach thru webservices, i came to know i cant expose the intranet data to internet users. my DBA suggested to replicate the DB to other oracle DB which got licrensed for external facing app. I was surprised to hear that. Is that the common practice of Oracle OR specfic to my company ( not sure yet ). Any idea on sharing the intranet data without violating licensing stuff.

Hi Guys,
I am learning SOA right now. Is it the good start if I am going thru SW718,719 PDFs. Are they enough for taking Test 665?
Thanks

Finally I got the result of SCEA Part 2 with the score of 88. Sun has exactly communicated the result in the 5th week after submission. I would suggest ..submit the exam and go for vacation instead of keep checking the Sun Site . When you come back, you will have some good news.

Immediately after passed the Part 1, start working on Part 2. I did some relax between these 2 exams which put me to review againthe syllabus.

For Part 3, as every SCEA says, Sun is testing whether you did the assignment. So by mistake, if you didnt address any non-func requirement, if the Question has been asked on that non-func req, its nice to mention your decision for that req and put a note that you didnt address that( if you have reason why didnt address, mention it ). This is my suggestion since I did for one non-func req and passed the exam with recently good score.

Thanks to JavaRanch Team for providing very nice discussions which helped me to understand some requirements.

Good Luck Team.
Thanks Jeff for the different email IDs.
I got the reply by putting "URGENT:***" in subject.
They asked me to use scea-PROMETRIC_ID.

I submitted the asignment. As usual started looking into CertManager eventhough the result will come after 4 weeks.
I have sent a mail to [email protected] only. No reply yet. Will let you know if I get any answer.
Hi,

I am about to submit the assignment for 'Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for J2EE Technology (Step 2 of 3) (CX-310-300A) exam.
Sun says as follows inside the assigment.

***
When you have completed your solution, you should have an "index.html" that has your name, i.d., a link to the class diagram, a link to the component diagram, and a link to each of the sequence/collaboration diagrams. Build a jar archive that contains all html files. You must build a jar archive; do not send individual files.

The name of your submission jar archive file MUST be derived from your i.d.. (Note that in the United States, your i.d. is your 9-digit social security number, e.g. 555443333. Outside the U.S., your i.d. might be 9 digits, or it might be 2 characters followed by 7 digits, e.g. sp1234567.) Your archive filename MUST BE scea-AAAAAAAAA.jar, where AAAAAAAAA is your i.d..

I am confused as I am currently residing in United States. In above context, what is my ID? Is it my SSN / Prometric Candidate ID(SR*******) / Sun Candidate ID(SUN******)?

Thanks
I would say its EJB 1.1.
I used almost all study materials available in scea_j2ee group and javaranch or any other site.
I am having all major books as hard copy.
Can anybody tell me where can I start for SCEA Part II and III preparation. Is there any tutorial to guide me for best design etc.
Thanks
Hi,

Today I have cleared Part1 exam with 91%. I have prepared the following books.

Oreilly EJB
HeadFirst Design Patters
UML Distilled
Almost all study materials available in SCEA yahoo group.

Mock exams from javaqueries and 288 Qs were helpful to understand the problem solving Qs.

I am heading towards Assignment Exam.

Thanks for everyone posting the answers.

Thanks Majji. Sounds great. Let me refresh my memories and appear for the exam.
Hi,
I have been preparing for SCEA Part 1 Exam for the last few months. I have tested myself by answering 288Qs available in SCEA Yahoo group. I got around 80% based on the answers provided in that. Does that mean that I can go for the final exam with confident. Is there any other mock test available in which the score would be closest to Final Exam.
Thanks
