Hi all,
I am unable to understand how Swing works when you have look and feel and you are having a custom ComponentUI for a component. Here is the sample code:

In this example, if a look and feel is set in the beginning and after that a custom UI is set for TextField(MyTextUI), the custom UI is taking the priority. If Look and Feel is set later, the look and feel will override the custom UI. I want know to what is the appropriate way to create custom ui. Should one always create Look and feel set for all the components and set it to the UIManager. What if I want to have custom look and feel only for a few components?

Thanks,
Ganesh

It is not a proper way because the subclass is simply making use of superclass. It is not modifying any behavior of the superclass

Hi all,
In lot of Swing samples I see that a component, say, JFrame being extended. The extending class simply sets the properties or adds children to the super class. This is a not proper way, right? What is the purpose of extension if you are not modifying the behavior of the superclass?

Are there 2 Spring containers one created by ContextLoaderListener and another by DispatcherServlets? If yes, then if the beans in the rootAppplicationContext are inherited by the WebApplicationApplication, do they live in 2 Containers?

Thanks,
Ganesh

Hi all,
Suppose I create an application context using ContextLoaderListener. And I am using Spring MVC. The DispatcherServlet is also having its WebApplicationContext. What is the relationship between these two application contexts.

Thanks,

You can refer the book "Spring in action". It is good. And about the online material. The SpringSource site provides good reference material. Here is the URL http://static.springsource.org/spring/docs/2.5.x/reference/

Hi
I want a String list array, which I am trying to create using the statement:
List<String>[] listArray = new List<String>[3];
But the compiler is giving an error for 'new List<String>[3]'. If I use the statement:
List<String>[] listArray = new List[3];
it works fine. But I am not sure if it serves my purpose. Can anyone please clarify?

Thanks,
Ganesh

Have you given a value to the attribute title with h:commandButton. I used the tag h:commandButton with title attribute. The value of title is displayed as toolTip in Firefox.

You can use the tag <hutputLink>. The value attribute of this tag will be used as href attribute of the anchor tag. For the value attribute, you can provide the javascript function as the value.

Thanks for you reply. Can anyone tell me which mock exam suite is preferred.
Hi everyone,
I am planning to write SCWCD exam. Can you please tell me how much preparation required for this. And which mock exam suite is good. I read in the forum that the Whizlab kit is really easy compared to the real test questions.

Thanks
Ganesh
Hi
I read the book K&B. And I took the mock exams from Whizlabs. They are a bit tougher than the real exam. If you are getting 80% in Whizlabs you can hope to get 90% in the real exam.
