I use JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null,"check variable") to diagnose what is happening in servlet and JSP. It works for me, but I don't know if it is the right way.

Hi,
I wrote a piece of text within the HTML textArea where I used "enter" to start new lines. I saved it to the database (MS Access) via Servlet. But when I opened
the database, only the first line of text is been saved. How can I save this whole text and keep the original format?
Thanks in advance

Peter,
Thank you very much for your reply.
I tried other SMTP host like yahoo.com, but still got an error: javax.mail.MessagingException: Could not connect to SMTP host: smtp.mail.yahoo.com, port: 25....
I think the reason is that some Internet Service Provider (like Juno, Netzero, FunCow) block remote ports 53 and 25. I read an article talk about this.
Thanks again,

Juan Zhang

Hi Zoe,
I tested the "simplemail.jsp" example posted on this website. But I got an error, it says: Unknown SMTP host: smtp.mail.Rediff.com; nested exception is...
I have two Rediff.com email acounts and they worked fine when I sent e-mail through the internet.
Which "SMTP host" do you use? Do you know any other "SMTP host" I can use to test this example?
Thank you very much.

Hi,
Im learning Servlet and JSP from the book called core Servlets and JavaServer Pages by Marty Hall. When I tried to run an example on page 360, I got an error as shown below:
Error:500
Location: /travel/BookFlights.jsp
Javax.servlet.ServletException: Can not create bean of class JSPpackage.TravelCustomer at.
My servlet classes are located in D:/jakarta-tomcat-3.2.1/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/classes/JSPpackage directory. My .jsp files and .html file are located in D:/jakart-tomcat-3.2.1/webapps/travel directory. Im using JBuilder3 and IE5. I am not able to figure out what caused the error, Please advise.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Is there a easy way to find the solution by hand calculation?
1) int a = 0x67
int b = 0xBD
a^b = ?
2)(byte)0x81 >> 2 = ?
Thanks
