A good hint.

getParameter() returns String. It's actually used to get the queryString appended in the URL or request parameters submitted through form

In case of getAttribute() accepts Object. So we can keep any subclass of Object in request/session/application

By default, Greedy compiler doesn't re-compile the dependent classes. You can turn off this feature by setting ‘false’ to includeDestClasses attribute

What is the purpose of declaring 'ps' as private ?

I would suggest to delcare it as local variable inside doPost() or doGet()

Hi,
I suggest that your first option is best one. You can add Edit link/button to do this functionality in View mode itself. Most commonly edit mode can be used for setting up the user preferences. For e.g., if you want to restrict number of user records to be displayed in the view mode, you can provide a text box in Edit mode in which user can give number of records to be displayed.
