Does anybody know how to deploy the JAR and JAD files of MIDP application whithin a server, in order to be downloaded over the air (OTA) from a device?
So far, Ive stored both files in my server, and it works properly using a PC browser as client. I point to the JAD URL and later on the JAR file is downloaded and executed by Suns Emulator. However, using a real device (Accompli008 or SL45i) the midlet is not downloaded.
Any suggestion?
Thanx in advance,
Javi.

Hi liang,
Try to read the data at once:
int len=(int)c.getLength();
byte[] data=new byte[len]
is=c.openInputStream();
is.read(data);
it will work only if your server returns the content-length header.

Hi,
I dont know whether the following link might suit your needs, but lets have a look:

No, it doesnt. The A008 as MIDP compliant device does not support socket connection. MIDP only mandates support for HTTP connections. Try to carry out the comunication using HTTP to talk your server-side application.

Hi,
Does anybody write a sample code using the GUI classes of the LWT_API?. Im trying to develope some apps, but I didnt get any result, so far. The methods "add(Component w)", and "insert(Component comp, int index)" are not working properly.
Any suggestions?,
Javi.

Hi,
I think you can find a helpful example about a bussines data app in the link below. I did only browse it, but I guess it might answer your question:

Hi,
WAP and J2ME are two different technologies and it isnt easy compare them. I think you will get all the information about, in da link below:

Hi,
Does anybody know if it is possible to develope a client application which receives a png image from the server and later displays it?
Until now, I have displayed images storing them in a jar file. But I would like to show them dinamically, like a map-client-app, in which you select a city and the server returns the proper map.
Thanks in advance,

Yes you can. Whatever JSP is like an HttpServlet, so you can get the HttpServletRequest objet from the service(req,res) method. And this last object is provided with the getSession() method which returns the Session object.
I suggest you to have a look at the Servlets-API Documentation.

Hi,
Does anybody know the proper way to display a single .png image using the Image and ImageItem UI classes?
Im currently using codewarrior for java in order to test my j2me apps and it is unable to load the image which is stored in the root project directory.
I would really thank a sample code or any other resource.
