Hi,

just wonder, whenever i use encodeURL in my form action in a servlet page, the url of the return page will have the jsessionid, parameters etc.

However, I do not want to let people see the session id etc.

But i search net and was told that it was recommended to use encodeURL.

Please advise.

thanks.

Hi Guys,

please help me on this issue.

Currently I have Sun WebServer and BEA Weblogic.

I go to this url to load my page:
http://localhost/appServer/mydomain/faces/adder.jsp

however when i click submit, it goes to http://localhost/mydomain/faces/adder.jsp and error indicating that page cannot be found is shown.

Why does the form action path changes?

Hi,

thanks for all the help rendered.

I have 1 issue now.

I use JSP to create a Java Beans. I call initParameters to do something and a vector getSymbolMenu() is retrieved. I want to place the items in this vector into a dropdown menu. There is no error. But there is nothing in my dropdown list.

<jsp:useBean id="formHandler" scope="page" class="ed21.nday.bean.CapturingNomParticularsBean">
<jsp:setProperty name="formHandler" property="*"/></jsp:useBean>

<%formHandler.initParameters();%>

<f:view>
<h:form>
<h:selectOneMenu id="myParamId" value="Testing">
<%
Vector symbolMenu = formHandler.getSymbolMenu();

for (int i=0;i<symbolMenu.size(); i++){
%>

<f:selectItem itemLabel=<%=symbolMenu.elementAt(i)%> itemValue=<%=symbolMenu.elementAt(0)%>/>
<%}%>

</h:selectOneMenu>

</h:form>
</f:view>

please help me. Is this possible? thanks

Hi,

I just started on JSF. I do not know if I have configured my weblogic properly.

There is no error when i put this into my JSP
<%@ taglib prefix="f" uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" %>
<%@ taglib prefix="h" uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" %>

However when i add

<f:use_faces>
<h:form id="simpleForm" formName="simpleForm">
<table>
<tr>
<td>Name:</td>
<td><h:textentry_input id="name"/></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Password:</td>
<td><h:textentry_secret id="password"/></td>
</tr>
</table>
<p><h:command_button id="submit" commandName="Log In"/>
</h:form>
</f:use_faces>

, error reported in weblogic server is no handler for tagname='use_faces' ....

is my weblogic still not configured properly?

Hi

I am a newbie to JSF. I have been searching the net but to no avail.

I need to know if JSF rewrites the JSP Page again? If JSF can solve my problem, I will revamp my system to use JSF.

I have a JSP page with a form.
Inside my form, I use a bean. The bean is invoked to load some data from database to display on the JSP. Below the data, I have some textfields for user to input.
When the form is submitted, the data from the database is loaded again as it rewrites the entire JSP. Of cos, the bean sets and gets the value from user, therefore the information entered by the user remains.
However the data is queried again in the database.

I will like to know if JSF can solve my problem, having an eventlistener, so on click on the button, JSF can sets the values input from user without rewriting the whole content of the JSP page again.

Sorry for the long post.

Please help me.

Thanks

Perhaps I should use JSF? To retain information?

Hi,

thanks for your reply.

However i think you might have misunderstand my questions.

I use a bean in my jsp and when I click submit, all the get and set methods in the bean will be invoked. How can I just specify which set methods to invoke?

I cannot use a variable/flag as once I click the submit button and return to this same page, all the variables are reset and all set methods are invoked as well. One of my set method is calling the database. I do not want this method to be called again since it has been called once. I want it to call once when the JSP is shown by a user.

Hi,

i have been searching the internet but I cannot find anything clue to this issue.Appreciate if anyone can help me with this.

Currently I have a form in my JSP. This form when submitted should return back to this JSP again.

I have beans to capture the fields for a particular form
<jsp:useBean id="formHandler" scope="page" class="ed21.nday.bean.CapturingNomParticularsBean">
<jsp:setProperty name="formHandler" property="*"/></jsp:useBean>

However if I submit this form and return back to this JSP, the rest of the contents (outside this form) will be rewritten and will query my database again. How can I just retain the information in the JSP?

I can paste my codes if you do not understand what I say.

Thanks

Hi,

I trying to include a servlet in my jsp by using

<%@ include file="/MenuServlet"%>.

where MenuServlet has been mapped correctly in web.xml.

my jsp resides in C:\bea\user_projects\domains\ed\applications\ed\jsp

and my servlet in C:\bea\user_projects\domains\ed\applications\ed\WEB-INF\classes

I do not know how to write the relative path to be included since only relative path is valid, instead of absolute path

and I am getting this error:

weblogic.utils.ParsingException: nested TokenStreamException: antlr.TokenStreamException: Could not include /MenuServlet

Appreciate Any Help Greatly.

Thanks a million in advance!
