Hi Roel,

Yup it was yours that i used to create the final submission.jar file with. So, if yours had the META-INF/MANIFEST.MF then i suppose it is alright to submit it as is. Thanks for confirming it.

Hi Roberto,

Thanks for your quick reply. I'm using the ant script posted on this forum which creates this folder in the main final submission jar file so, i was assuming it was alright to have it but if none of you folks have submitted it with this then i would not take risk of including this folder.

Hi Folks,

Is it alright to have META-INF/MANIFEST.MF in the final submission.jar because in the instructions.html it only expects the following structure

code/
docs/
version.txt
db-file.db
runme.jar

Thanks a lot for your reply. This clarifies my doubts & i can submit my assignment without any probs.
Hi Folks,

I've 2 questions around 2 topics package.html & userguide.txt

1. package.html : in order to add comments next to the package i had to create the little package.html files which reside in the respetive package. Is it ok if the source files also have package.html in the final submission jar file .

2. userguide.txt : In my userguide.txt i have application execution details e.g. how to start database? how to connect to remote database? how to connect to the local database? etc .. It desn't have the application installation in it e.g. unjar the submission jar etc etc. Is it to now have the installation details in the userguide.txt. It would be interesting to hear from the experienced folks to understand whether or not this is required.

Your help with the answer to above questions is highly appreciated since i'm looking to submit my assignment tomorrow.

Thanks folks for your reply. It was indeed very helpful & gives me some more work to do which i was trying to avoid. I've started exploring into mnemonics etc so hopefully i'll get hold of the concept soon.

Thanks Ann for your quick reply.

After posting this topic i read through certain threads about this & from a read of it looks the menu is necessary since some folks have recieved 0 marks for not implementing it. So, certainly i would implement the Menu but regarding mnemonic is it necessary if you have full navigation support using either keyboard or mouse. There is a default support using "CTRL+TAB".

Also is Menu necessary in all the 4 GUIs ...

1. Server
2. Client
3. Standalone
4. Booking system
Hi Folks,

I need suggestion here since whatever the threads i have been reading so far folks seem to have implemented the short cut keys & menu in their GUIs.

My personal opinion about this is that if i have a GUI which can be navigated using keyboard & mouse to perform all the required operations then we don't need short cut keys & menu for this application.

In my GUI i have Book / Search / Cancel button also the user can navigate the gui using ( CTRL+Tab ) or mouse. Plus user can use either ENTER or mouse click to select the button.

Don't know if there is anything i'm missing here which i'm not adhering to then it would be worth knowing.

Don't know if not having short cut keys & menu would affect the MARKS.

Any comments on above & your suggestion would certainly help.

Hi Manish,

Great Score .... You kept up the consistency of scoring high on SUN Exams.

All the best Manish for your SCWCD Exam. After looking at your SCJP score i think you will do wonders on this exam as well.

Hi Manish,

In my case i'd scored 68% in the HSFJ final mock exam & got 89% in the Final SCWCD exam. But i did go through the Enthuware mock tests as well which i think helped as well to get the better score.

But if you aspirations are very high as in getting 90+ etc then may be you can revise more but what i feel is that no matter how much we study, it all depends in the final exam is how much we remember what we studied & chose the right options.

Hi Folks,

I was looking at SCJD as my next target (probably) & was trying to understand what's involved in it . I couldn't gather much on the essay exam. Folks pls. share your experience here as to what the essay exam is based on. What kind of questions are asked? What is SUN's expectations?

The scores that folks have been posting out of 400 , do we get them after clearing essay exam as well or you get them just after submitting the project.

What kind of scoring is for essay exam?
