I am totally confused.If I have knowledge,and I proved that in an exam, then company will not recognize that as a credential!!!.This is very sarrow thing to think about.Almost all the books for SCJP explained that the chances will be improved for getting a job.But, this is totally diffrent in the context Jeroen T Wenting explained.
Hello,
I got 95% in SCJP 5.0 recently.I didn't even get the logo or Certificate from SUN(Which already delivered by sun on 12th of this month).

My Question is this percentage will look good on my resume? I am a freash graduate.Some person who got 66% in SCJP and he is 2 years experienced in programming,This guy told me that there is no value for a certificate for freshers!!!.Is this true? I dissappointed very much,what is the cert I prepared which has no value for me.Is this percent at any case is have a value.If it has value,where I have to specify that in my resume(By the way I lost only 3 marks can I specify this).If not I have to go SCWCD(any way I am preparing it now,but I have wait for it passed out).please clarify my doubts...!
HI Kalpesh Jain,

There are only two days remaining go for the master exam in K&B it covers more things.In javaranch in "FAQs for programmer cert" you can find several mocks for SCJP 5.I have gone throgh 5 or 6.All the best for yor certification.

Hi Mark Uppeteer,
There is alot to remember in API.Dont blindly go through there is a big logic.If you have more time (means 5 days or above) Complete reference by Herbert is the best way to concentrate on API important areas, ah, and dont forget to read only the required API specified by Objectives(There is an Objective on API Contents for SCJP 5 ).
If you have less time then Hurry to take docs and K&B book both of the simultaniously,remember one thing while preparing API in K&B covers most of the things in API,but you have to go for more in the API for the classes specified(Only those classes specified nothing more, because time is less) in K&B.

Thank you for your warm responce.

Hello Anthony,
According to my paper The questions are slght harder.API contents are all the things those are specified in the objectives.And thank you for your warm response.

Thanks Shankar then I am Going to SCWCD now as my second step(So many steps are there still, to achieve for proper growth).

Hi Burkhard,
I not mensioned it was 100% coverage for SCJP in case of API.I said the concepts like Thread related aspects, inner classes, Generics and collection and concept oreanted things(We might feel hard if we not clear in those topics).
Even we cant say A book will cover all the API content...!because a lot of things are there in API.Only the importent things are always be discussed every where for a perticular situation.

Hi shankar, I wish to take SCWCD next, is that good.What the next cert that most people prefer.

Hey, I finally made it.I got 95% in SCJP 5 today.Only 3 were wrong out of 72.
For Success in This exam with 100% is The "formula Mock Tests".So much we can know from MockTests.Really I appeared for many mock tests.I can Say that Real exam was some what tougher than Mocks(Not that much K&B master exam).I got 98% in whizlabs test and I got 82% in K&B mock.
Be practiced for the API contents(They are the first "gun shot" points we can have in the exam).
For Thread related questions and Generics,collections K&B book was very nice.The coverage was very good.Once again thanks to Kathy sierra and Bert Bates.Without such a nice book good results can never be achieved.We have to appreciate them for giving such a nice book(It is very helpful in the entire career not only for exam).
Dont study a book for getting things.Practice...Practice...practice and then practice.You can get more things by practicing.

I have to thank all the ranchers who made me to think in right way.Jothy shanker,my friend,brought lot of new things even the basics(which I thught I know well,But I learnt, I have to know more).I have to thank him.

I feel very happy to be with ranch people and help to those people who want to take things challenging.

What is the meaning of enabling assertions at compile time.My machine not working for the command
javac -ea Test.java

Its saying invalid flag -ea(I tried with -enableassertions also)Why this is wrong?
What about the questions that asked before the exam, about the level of the candidate in specific area,I was told that Expert,Intermediate or novoice.What was the best option to choose? Will these questions affect the toughness of questions or the pattern of questions or the hints(like ISO locales and ISO languge code or Other information) given for the questions?
If this affects, what about if we choose novoice?
What we have to respond if no quesion was given, only the code and answars?Is it right to think the question like "What will be the output of following code?"(Eventhough this was not given above the code).Will these type of things happen in the exam...?
sorry there is a tyo in above answar

in above code x=x^y gives (1984)11111000000 ^ (2001)11111010001 ==010001

so agin XOR with 2001(11111010001)^17(010001) gives 1984(11111000000)

finally y is 1984
again x=1984^1984 gives 0

So the final answar is x=0 and y=1984
There lies a big calculation
The code behind is I think

in above code x=x^y gives (1984)11111000000 ^ (2001)11111010001 ==010001

so agin XOR with 2001(11111000000)^17(010001) gives 1984(11111000000)

finally y is 1984
again x=1984^1984 gives 0

So the final answar is x=0 and y=1984
Inner class is also a class, so it must implement Serializable to be eligible for writig.
If that message is for qualified "static member in the class is accessed with instance" ,Then what about the following code "i " is also a static member..right !
class Test
{
static int i=10;
public static void main(String[] args)
{
System.out.println(new Test().i);
}
}
Any way I think static classes are not members.But why they are for? and what they are?
