Hiii all

I am getting frustrated for not able to solve this simple problem
Logs also don't say at all, SOP's not working too
Please someone help me out

I used instructions available on tomcat site for enabling logging and copied new tomcat-juli.jar file. Now tomcat itself is not starting at all. log files of 10MBs are generated (as is mentioned on website). Hence i m using old tomcat-juli.jar file only.

I am not able to see my System.out.println() calls anywhere in the logs.

This is simples registration form with 1 userID and two Password fields. No database connections are made.
I am not including success.html and failure.html; these are simplest html files showing success or failure depending upon whether user entered both passwords same or not respectively.

A part of tomcat.log file is also attached generated by log4j.

Here others are.

web.xml

struts-config.xml

register.jsp

RegisterForm.java

RegisterAction.java

Tomcat log related to my HTTP request

HI all
Thanks for the help

There was an error of '/' in <action> element's path property.

Now no exception is being thrown, but after processing action i m not getting the forward page.
I am seeing only a blank screen.
Nothing found in tomcat logs.
Also System.out.println() is not printing anything on tomcat console window.
These SOP's not printed in logs too.

I checked Tomcat logs; binutils and digester libraries were required. So copied them to my application's WEB-INF\lib directory
action servlet is getting accessed now,
but now following exception is being thrown

From tomcat logs:
-------------------------------------------------
Nov 17, 2009 4:21:40 PM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapperValve invoke
SEVERE: Servlet.service() for servlet action threw exception
org.apache.struts.chain.commands.InvalidPathException: No action config found for the specified url.
-------------------------------------------------

struts-config.xml and web.xml files are properly set for the requested URL. Not getting why is this happening.
I have worked with struts some 9 months back, but didn't get such issues.

As such there is no stack trace in tomcat window. The browser shows 404 error:
----------------------------------------------------------
HTTP Status 404 - Servlet action is not available

type Status report

message Servlet action is not available

description The requested resource (Servlet action is not available) is not available.

Hi all,

I m not getting why my Tomcat 6 servlet container is unable to find the ActionServlet.
I have made entry for this servlet in web.xml and done mapping also
WEB-INF\lib is having the "struts-core-1.3.10.jar" file. I am not using other struts modules/ features like jsp tags, validation, tiles etc.

I have checked my code and file structure with that available in book "Struts Complete Reference". Code downloaded runs fines.
For my code the container is not getting ActionServlet itself.

HI all,

I am using NetBeans 6.1 and its embedded profiler

Can anyone please help me in understanding following points:-

1) I want to know if the live results window shows only presently allocated objects or all the objects allocated since the start of application.

2) Because GC removes garbage objects then How can I see the list of objects allocated at present.

3) Also, the generation column shows number of GCs that object has survived. Does this mean the object has been garbage collected after those GC counts and is not available now?

Thank all,

I understand these are very silly doubts but I am new to profilers and just want to know if what I concluded is correct or not.

Thank all,

Thanks William and Steve,

Steve, I googled it but I can't go through their long features descriptions and then test if their claims are satisfactory because of time scarcity. However, I am going through Netbeans Profiler & JProfiler-5 (Eval ver).

I want to be suggested one good profiler, from your experiences, that allows to profile whole application module by module and show each module's CPU and memory usages and also point out its place in the code.

Thank you all

Hi all.

I would like to know name of profilers, free ones preferred, that can monitor and show CPU and memory consumption by different modules (classes) of a complete application. I want to monitor performance of each module separately.

I read about Netbeans profiler embedded with its 6.1 version but not sure if it has got that feature. What I have seen is it displays the memory allocations and CPU usage for the complete application or the modules we have selected as whole, but not on per module basis.

For any clarification please let me know.

Thank you all.

Hi everyone,

I don't know very much HTML and related tools and techniques.

But I want to know at how places can the links to images be in an HTML and related documents like CSS, Javascript and others.

Actually I want to get a list of all those tags and properties that specify a browser to download and display an image.

I have a short list which indicates browser of images to download, it is:-

<IMG>, <BODY>, <INPUT> tags of HTML
background, background-image, properties in CSS files also CSS-Sprites (thanks Eric :-))

I would be glad to receive a more complete list specifying their place, and details completely and how browser downloads them.

Thanks

Hi Eric

Thanks for the reply

I don't know about CSSs, other than that they are used to style the HTML page. I used only the knowledge I had about loading of images from URLS in a HTML, hence that question.

Sorry if I made you mad.
Kind regards, :-)

Thanks Eric for the reply.

I also saw the images are 1X1, but what I see are not 1X1, a.gif is sun logo and other is search button a downward solid black filled arrow.
