Hi

Is there a standard way (or sun way) to create a pool, I found that in this book
http://java.sun.com/developer/onlineTraining/Programming/JDCBook/

but because the book is sense 1999, I think now there must be some package (rather than hibernate) doing that!!

Thanks
Hi

I am not sure what is URL string when you create a connection
DriverManager.getConnection(url, userName, password);

Is it a way to determine the host server that host the JDBC driver, so that I can connect to a remote jdbc??

if yes, so verify the following

When you write jdbc:mysql://77.60.90.10, this will create a connection to jdbc on that machine 77.60.90.10, and mysql is listening to some port which does not change.

Thanks
Hi
I cannot locate loggers, since it is server embedded with j2ee, also
the page source contains nothing at all!!

I am still stuck they said in the tutorial that if I get WSDL
by
http://localhost:8080/WebServiceExample/circlefunctions?wsdl

this means it correctly deployed, I tried that and it work!

but
http://localhost:8080/WebServiceExample/circlefunctions?getArea=0.5
does not work

Is there a chance that this lib is not for http REST web-services and it is only supports SOAP, which I know nothing about it, and don't want to use it!!

Help I am stuck.

thanks

Hi

Methods are loaded into memory before any instance created, so if you created a static method then this method will just be like any instance method, but the JVM will give you access to it before any instantiation of the object.

therefore the static methods have no effect on memory, its effect on memory just like the effect of access modifier.

Verify this please

Hi

I am still confused about how java.net works

the strange thing is that although there is nothing called yakhoo.com
sometimes an input stream returned, but also sometimes it fires UnknownHostException when you try to get the stream,

so what is happening??

Thanks
Good advice about ignore that classes, all that missing around because I trusted a doc just because it is on Google!! and it it did not even tell me the package name. (I should sleep more)
Hi
there is a java.net.HttpURLConnection; we all know what it is doing
but what is sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection;

When I import it sun.net.www.protocol.http,
netBeans said importing from forbidden package, what is forbidden package term mean, (I KNOW what is forbidden in English mean. )

What is this package, it gives me hard times,
when you try to cast HttpInputStream to BufferedInputStream I have

Although HttpInputStream is BufferedInputStream according to
http://nitric.com/jnp/javadoc/alphabetically/HttpInputStream.html

I think it is the same BufferedInputStream but with different class signature (I mean the classes consist of different things), if you look into that link BufferedInputStream contains a method ensureOpen(), however our
BufferedInputStream is not containing anything like that not even protected or private method (I check that).

What is that, I mean really??

Thanks
Hi

Is Closing BufferedStream lead to closing the wrapped stream?

Hi

I need some guidance here, I need to know if JDBC is supporting distributed Database, also if the MY-SQL do so

I just understand distributed Database concept but now I need some guidance to dig more toward the technology.

Thanks
I think you miss the point because Socket constructor is taking a host not a resource, and that was the problem in first place.

Thanks
