It is hard for me to test the exception since I don't know how to force an exception inside the inner try {}.  I am pretty sure the syntax of this code was correct since it worked fine.  What I was trying to ask was actually just about the exception part not the grammer for try-with-resource.  I want to know if it is necessary to have its own catch block for inner try in order to catch its exception

Above is a typical try-with-resource code.  The question I have is: if there is some exception raised inside the inner "try" block, will this exception be caught by the outer "catch" section ?  Note: I don't have  a catch block for inner "try".

Surely what is happening here is wrong. However it happens everywhere. I have managers in my organization that get rated 10/10 every quater despite glitches in their work. As long as this whole scenario does not affect your pay or work quality, there should be no reason for you to dislike the place. In the relative sense your pay IS affected but as a whole this scenario makes no difference to you ( even though its not right ). If there is a way to make an anonymous complaint, do it. But be ready to back it up with facts.




I thought my raise was too low and that's why I arranged a talk. I sort of "believed" the excuse until I found out that truth. So i feel this brings the work morale and integrity down and i don't like that.

I am working in a small-midium firm. I have been in this company for 2 years. I have a female co-worker and we get along pretty well. But recently I found some "secrects" --- She sometimes has lunch with the boss and she got much higher salary raise than other peers who work as hard as she does. This upsets me because I don't think this is fair.

I requested for more salary raise to the boss (of course I didn't use my co-worker as example due to the sensitive nature of their relation), but I was politely rejected by his all kinds of excuses.

Shall I just walk away from this company ? A friend told me I should report the boss' act to higher management level. but I really hesitate on doing this because a) I don't have real personal conflict with that female co-worker though I don't like the fact she gets unfair high raise than other temamates b) I don't want to create such big issue that may get myself involved in revenge target. For myself, personally I also don't see much future in working in this firm from career perspective. So, maybe I should just leave the company ??

Advice and ideas please.
