Hi,

I passed the SCWCD with 86% today. I would like to thank the Javaranch community for being so helpful. SCWCD links/Rancher Notes/FAQs.. everything played their part here..

For SCWCD aspirants.. i used the below for my prep:

1. HFSJ - Bryan Basham, Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates.. - Thank you very much for this great book and actually the whole head first series..!!!
2. Frits Walraven notes - These are great reference once you read the book.
3. PeabodyOnScwcdPatterns - Very good..
4. SCWCD Hints by Jothi Shankar Kumar - nice compilation..
5. Last but not the least Enthuware mock exams - These were of great help.. Especially the ability to add notes when you review the incorrect answers.. really good..

Best of luck to all preparing for the exam...

Hi,

I had a doubt regarding the marking on the exam. While doing self-test examples for multiple choice questions, i usually found that out of 3 right choices i got 2 right and failed to find the other right option.

So, i wanted to know in case of multiple choice questions, if i get two out of three options right then does that question get marks or it is like complete right or complete wrong.

Also, the same regarding drag and drop questions.

Thanks,

Hello folks,

I am currently preparing for SCJP 1.5. I have found the entire Javaranch community really helpful and it is great that everybody here are very dedicated towards their work. so wnat to Thank You All!!

While preparing for SCJP, I found that it is too syntax oriented and it does not comprise of any other Java technologies like JSP or servlets or RMI. I had to learn regarding the same through various other means.

But through SCJA we get high level overview of all the Java technologies and its a very novel thought on part of Sun to introduce this certification.

Now, i am planning to first complete the SCJA and then SCJP.

Also, from going through this SCJA forum for the study materials, it seems Cameroon Mackenzie's books the most popular.

Looking forward to more posts from me on this forum.
