Benson Fung wrote:Hi Mohammed,

Thanks for your suggestions. By the way, do you have any materials which are specifically for 669? Because I would like to take IBM Test 669.

Thanks
Benson

You're welcome Benson, francly I haven't updated my certification with the new test yet, so all I can advise is refering to the recommended material in the IBM exam page and making sure you have enough knowledge about the objectives, you'll also find many articles online refering to the different objectives. Sorry I couldn't be much of help with this subject.

Good luck

Benson Fung wrote:Hi Mohamed,

Do you think your tutorial still support test 669? Bcus 663 has retired.

Thanks
Benson

Hi Benson

you must have meant exam 664, and as far as I know, exam 664 has not retired, It is to retire at the end of January.

As for the new test, well many of the objectives are the same, but new one have been added, so the tutorial should still be of help but its coverage is quite less than it is for exam 664.

I hope this answers you question
Brian Thank you!

And Marc, I believe the content had publishing trouble for a couple of days, it's back online now, please check it and tell me if you're still having problems accessing it.

Thank you!
Hi Tuty

Thank you for your compliement and interest in the tutorial. Like I mentioned in the main topic, the tutorial isn't really meant to be used as a single resource, other readings are encouraged, the SOA exam will test if you really understand SOA so the more you read, the better you'll be able to answer, using the tutorial will definitely save you time and it will get you quickly through the different topics hence giving you a broad quick coverage, but i'd really recommend more reading.

Good luck on your exam

Hi

I would like to share the following tutorial which is meant for preparation for the test 664 (SOA fundamentals),it's posted on developerworks and it's written by me.

The tutorial is built on the objectives on the exam, and contains a compilation of different resources. Though not meant to be used as a single reference, it represents a single stop compressed summary for the subjects needed for the exam.

Hope you find it handy and please contact me if you have any questions about it.

Hi all

I have taken the test 664 a while ago, as you guys said, the new test is 80% similar to the earlier one...

I would like to point out an article on DeveloperWorks that could be of help when preparing for the exam (the article is by me actually)

Good luck
Hello
In a small sized solution with a limited set of objects saved, is it worth to induce hibernate or will it be an overhead and one should stick to entity beans?

Does the book compare between alternate persistence solutions and when to use what?
Hi,

Is certification level knowledge in the different areas of the J2EE (EJB's, web services, web component...) a prerequisite for the SCEA? What does the book cover in terms of such areas? what about the move from J2EE1.4 into JEE5.0? can the book help with that or does one need to catch up before hand?
Which level does the book address? I'm totally new to hibernate, I was actually thinking between learning Entity beans vs Hibernate, would this book help as entry level?
Hi

Thank you for this very interesting book! a question though, I don't have theoretical experience in the subject, will the book assume that or is it more towards applied theory?

Thank you!

Hi

I am a Rational Application Developer user, what are the advantages of using net beans over RAD? I've worked on netbeans once, my initial impression was that the menus were less generic than they should be, but the server was super fast! Please provide me with your feedback
Hi

I had a question concerning the book, SOA in general is built to be technology agnostic, so is this book focusing on Java implementation for SOA and its benefits? or where does java fit here?

Thank you

Hi,
With the variety of specialization of the different people interviewed in the book, what kind of questions are asked?

Hi

I wanted to ask about the book structure of the J2EE Job Interview Companion, is it a set of randomly ordered questions? is it ordered by category? can one refer to it to study or cover up missing points in J2EE or you can only use it as a questions and answers reference?

Thank you

Hi

I've been developing .Net applications and J2EE applications for a while now, but i've been quite away from scripting which seems to be a hype now, can this book introduce me to such technologies or is it an advanced level book? One needs to catch up with events.
