Hi all,

I've developed a new application using JSF and Ajax4JSF. After developed a little pages I realized that there is a search that I could separate in a different component and share this new JSF page with the others. I'm including this page using the <a4j:include> tag. The problem is that when the user finishes the query I want to rerender the page (or maybe a component inside this page) that included it.

Do you guys have any suggestion to me?! What approach could I use?

P.S.: I was thinking about using the DWR library (Reverse Ajax) but I think that's not a good idea because ajax4jsf is already into the project. And I don't know if I could integrate DWR with JSF.

Thanks a lot,
Francisco.

Thanks Sundar for your opinion! I'm gonna get this another certification!
hi all,

I would like to get an advice of you. I just get my SCWCD certification last month and I'm planning on go ahead for the SCEA certification. I don't have experience with EJB, I just used UML for my university works, and I have a middle experience with Design Patterns (I'm finishing my computer science course this year). But I want to take this another certification to work as a designer (I have three years of experience with Java). I believe that taking this certification is a good way to get a promotion!

What do you think?! Could I start studying for this certification?

Regards,
Francisco Neto.
Hi all,

I'd like to know if the hutputLink of the JSF can only render to another page. I want to create a link to a file in my directory system and I'd like to create a link for it in a datatable.

Could anyone point me?

Thanks in advance!

hi all, I would like to know if it's possible to add an event when a user click in a row on my datatable component (Like the old Swing gui ). And if it's, what kind of event? (Bean or Javascript)

Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, Finally, I'm here to share with all of you that I've passed in the SCWCD exam yesterday! My score was 94%

The test is easier than I was hoping! Later I come back to tell you more about my experience.

Book:

- Head First.

Simulators

- Ethusware (so good, the same level of the test)
- HFSJ simulator (75%)
I think for the JSP spec older than 2.0 the default value is "JSP"

Instead, for both tag files and tag lib the default value is "scriptless" because we do not have the JSP value.

I hope that's it!
I think it's because directives are evaluated at translation-time while variables declared inside a declaration became instance variables of the servlet in question. That way, the container cannot know the value of the attribute the time the JSP page is translated into a Servlet class.

I hope it helps
Francisco.
Sorry, I misunderstood with the jsp standard action.
Yes, I think so. Because the time your page calls the jsp:include standard action the container will process the included page again and then put the output inside your main page. As the container will notice that your included page was modified, so it'll be compiled and processed it again!

I hope it helps.
regards.
Francisco.
You can use the ServletContext class through the getResource or getResourceAsStream methods.
Hi all, I'm using the attribute javax.faces.STATE_SAVING_METHOD set to client. But It's appearing a String in my jsf page something like that

<input type="hidden" name="com.sun.faces.VIEW" value="H4sIAAAAAAAAAK1ZW2wcVxk+Xt/tkMR2koZcWjdJ0yatd+1cmtQmBF..."/>

How could I hide this tag in my page?!

Hi all, I got a problem with jsf! I have a bean in the session scope. First, I open a jsp page that does some work and then I redirect it using the navigation-rule in the faces-config.xml file. The problem is when I come into the second page, all the action doesn't work! They just don't call the bean method in a action event!

Any advice?!

Thanks

Dear Vladimir, I think your doubt is: "Why the servlet itself doesn't do the job instead of creating a separate thread for that?!"

I think that's because imagine if we create a new instance of the servlet class for each request and then set the init parameters, set the servlet context, and so forth! It could generate a considerable delay!

I hope it helps.
Francisco.
