Hi All,

I tried to do a lot of permutation and combination so that my JNDI will be initialized with Java:comp/env/XXX but I am not able to apend comp/env in my JNDI.

Is there any configuration in any xml or any guidance to this will be highly appreciated.

I am using JBoss 5.1

Thanks,
Kamal

Hi Ranchers,

Today morning i cleared SCWCD with 92%.
Thanks a lot to all the post in javaranch.
I read head first three times. And i prepared for 2 months.
Head first is having a lot of concepts so please go through this at least 2-3 times.

In final Mock test of HFSJ i got 70%.and as ranchers says +20% could be the final score and is correct.

Other than HFSJ book i did some mock test from javabeat and also javaranch mock test, these will be helpful to remind all the concepts in HFSJ.
Next target is SCBCD .............
Again thanks for all the posts which helped a lot, and will continue with the SCBCD forum of javaranch...

Thanks
Kamal

Christophe, I am using J2EE 1.2 in RAD 6.0 to check it.
Hey Satou.. I tried to put two <login-config> & <jsp-config> tags in my web.xml and I am getting error...it seems that we cnn't put mire than 1.
Basically there are three include methods:

1. <% pageContext.include(String Url); %>
2. <jsp:include page="URL"/>
3. <%@ include file="Url" %>

The first one allows you to specify a variable url in your JSP, whereas last two need a literal (hardcoded) String as the URL.

Another difference is that The last one i.e. include directive lets you include files at the time the JSP page is translated into a servlet. They actually become part of the generated servlet code. Changing the file that is included won't have an effect until the jsp is modified and recompiled. Whereas the first two include the file at execution time so modifications to the included file will be noticed the next time the page is executed.

Please add your comments.
You are right.
Default scope for jsp:useBean is Page not request.
So now the belwo code will run fine.

<jsp:useBean id = "person" type="util.Employee" scope="request">
<jsp:setProperty name="person" property="name" value="Fred" />
</jsp:useBean>

Name is: <jsp:getProperty name="person" property="name" />
<br>
Thanks a lot for your details reply.
I also have plan for 2-3 Hrs daily.

HFSJ is good option to start. Have you ever had any experience about SCWCD by kathy sierra.
Hey if anybody can recommend any mock test for Drag & Drop questions and how many will be there in SCWCD1.4.

Kamal
Hi,

I just cleared SCJP1.5 and now want to prepare SCWCD.

If any body could suggest how much time it will take to prepare SCWCD if you have a fare idea about JSP & Servlets.
Also if any of you can point out something which needs to be taken care for preparation and real exam.
Thanks
Kamal
