Hello I want to build a tree in jsf. Here i want server side toggling of the tree nodes. ie; the tree should be even driven. Thus the requirement comes down to
1) Server side toggling - only the expanded node should be refreshed and not the entitre jsf page
2) When a node is selected, the content in the middle/body tile of the jsf page should be refreshed. Again this data will be coming from server based on the tree selected, but i dont want entire jsf to be refreshed

Do i have any such tree component?
Also i want that if the javascipt is disabled even then this should work. I think ajax4jsf does not use javascript. But am not sure how can i combine it with a tree component. Please suggest.
I have heard of various tree components like trinidada, tomhawk but am not sure how to use them.

Hi

I am using Jboss-4.0.5 application server
I would like to include a HTML file which is placed outside the web application (eg: sample.war) in a JSP.

im using the following to include the HTML file
<jsp:include page='<%=filepath%>'/>

The issue is filepath is considered with reference to the application
example:
if filepath=C:/html/static/temp.html
then JSP include tag is considering path as /sample/C:/html/static/temp.html

But the structure for the HTML file is C:/html/static/temp.html ( local hard disk )

How to include the HTML file in such case?
Please help.

Hello All,
I Want to populate a grid stucture with defined no. of rows and columns.

I am trying to use the t:datalist control in <%@ taglib uri="http://myfaces.apache.org/tomahawk"; prefix="t"%>

My data is fetched from the backing bean. My JSF is as follows:

<%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"; prefix="h" %>
<%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"; prefix="f" %>
<%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jstl/core"; prefix="c" %>
<%@ taglib uri="http://myfaces.apache.org/tomahawk"; prefix="t"%>

<f:view>

<t:outputText value="Testing"/>
<t:outputText value="Testing//"/>
<f:verbatim>

<%int c =1;
<t:dataList value="#{registerBean.books}" var="book"
id="horzNav" layout="grid" >
<f:verbatim>

<t:commandLink action="#{registerBean.institutions}">
<t:outputText value="#{book.ISBN}" />
</t:commandLink>
<t:outputText value="Testing"/>
<t:commandLink action="#{registerBean.institutions}">
<t:outputText value="#{book.title}"/>
</t:commandLink>
<f:verbatim>

</f:verbatim>

</f:verbatim>

<%

if(c == 3)
{
System.err.println("****************");%>
<f:verbatim>
<br>
</f:verbatim>
<%}else{
System.err.println("(((((((((((: "+c);
}
c = c+1;
System.err.println("(((((((((((: "+c);
%>
</t:dataList>

</f:verbatim>

</f:view>

I am not able to run sciptelts in between the t:datalist tag, though it is read only once but i am not able to increment the value of the count variable "c".
My aim is to populate my data in the form of 3 columns and n rows.

Please let me know if my approach of using the t:datalist is correct or not. I failed to use <h:panelgrid> and <h:datatable>

Please reply.
Thanks in advance.

Ok , let us not think about ajax for a while. I removed the ajax part from the js function changeSelBox()
I changes my function changeSelBox() to as shown below. In this I am only removing the select box option values and then refilling them with some hardcoded state values. If this simple js function is called on country change, this also give a problem on SUBMIT. My observation is that whenever js function alter registerForm:state_code select box values, submit stops working. Though it goes to server, but action method registrationBean.register is not called Please suggest.

function changeSelBox()
{
while (document.registerForm.elements["registerForm:state_code"].options.length > 0)
{
document.registerForm.elements["registerForm:state_code"].remove(0);
}
var countryName="2121"
var countryId="12"
var option = document.createElement("OPTION");
option.text="Ohio";
option.value="1";
document.registerForm.elements["registerForm:state_code"].add(option);

var option = document.createElement("OPTION");
option.text="Albany";
option.value="2";
document.registerForm.elements["registerForm:state_code"].add(option);
}

Hello All,

I am veryyyy newwww to JSF. I would really appreciate any help on the issue that i am facing. My requirement is as follows.
I have 2 Select Boxes (SelectOneMenu),
country and state. On the change of country, i want to filter the state select box. These values of state are to be picked updynamically from database, everytime country changes. I am using ajax for the same, so that the whole page does not refresh again. For using ajax, i am calling the javascript function changeSelBox().
changeSelBox() - This js function gets the values from database(using ajax), and then empties the state select box(using js), and populate it again with the new state code(using js).
In my browser i am also able to see new state codes in the state select box.
But after this if i click the submit button, using h:command button, my method register does not gets called, and the jsf page refreshes again.
Below are the few snippets from my jsf code
<h:commandButton value="#{msg.submit}"
action="#{registrationBean.register}" />

<h:selectOneMenu id="country" onchange="changeSelBox();" value="#{registrationBean.person.country}" >
<f:selectItems value="#{registrationBean.country_code}"/>
</h:selectOneMenu>

<h:selectOneMenu id="state" value="#{registrationBean.person.state}" >
<f:selectItems value="#{registrationBean.state_code}"/>
</h:selectOneMenu>

Please suggest if i am doing something wrong or needto proviode more information.

Thanks and Regards,
