Hello everyone,
I am in a slight predicament.
I have over 8 years experience in j2EE and EAI. I am a techical architect and expertise in Websphere EAI tools (MQ, Message Broker, Process Server etc).
I joined this company in UK a few months ago. Company paid a lot of money as initial settlement and joining bonus with a catch that i need to stay with them for atleast 1 year. I was recruited to help them with their integration statergy and start integrating different applications using a new Websphere integration product. The job profile looked very attractive and i took it (i had other offers too).
Last week, i was told that the management has decided to shelve the integration project for this year (i am not going into the reasons). Ther are no other projects which need my skills. Inspite of my strong technical background and willingness to work, i have almost nothing to work on. I am ending up doing things that i really dont enjoy doing.
The company is very good, decent money and facilities, it has a very good name in the market.
I really cannot afford to pay that money back to the company and leave. Same time, i can't let this happen to my career (its funny but i am already loosing touch with a lot of things).
Was any one of you in this situation...how did you get out of it??
