Hi,
I cleared SCEA part 1 on 9th. I managed to score 70%.I used the following materials.
1. Head first design patterns - must read
2. http://www.corej2eepatterns.com/Patterns2ndEd/index.htm
3. core security patterns
4. EJB 3 in action by manning.
5. Webservice - RMH book

There were 2 questions on advantages and disadvantages of JSF and also around 5 questions from JAX-WS.

Since i recently completed SCBCD 5.0, questions on EJB were a bit easier.

Completing SCEA Part 1 is a big gift for my birthday which is today :-)

Muhilan

Hi All,
I cleared the upgrade exam today.

It took me 1 and a half months to prepare.

I used the following materials:
1. EJB3 In Action - read it once
2. Spec(not the simplified one) - once atleast
3. MZ's notes
4. Enthuware EJB5+ Questions - got 85% in the final exam.

Since I already did SCBCD 1.3 it was not very tough for me.

Thanks so much javaranch.

Muhilan

Hi,
For SCEA 5 is it enough if we go through Sun Certified Enterprise Architecture for J2EE Technology Study Guide by Mark Cade (Author)and Simon Roberts (Author), UML Distilled: A Brief Guide to the Standard Object Modeling Language (3rd Edition) (The Addison-Wesley Object Technology Series)by Martin Fowler (Author) and include books on JSF and EJB 3.0 ?

Since a standard book is not available at this point of time for SCEA 5.0, would this be fine?

Thanks and Regards,
Muhilan

Hi,
Today I cleared SCDJWS after a long long preparation. Thougt i got rmh six months back, actually started preparing 3 months back. I did not have any practical experience working with web service.

Materials i used:

1. RMH - Read it thrice.

2. www.xyzws.com - Study notes

3. Mikalai notes - Study notes.

Quiz:

1. xyzws.com (5-6 times)

2. Mikalai quiz - (perfect quiz to know your strengths and weekness)

3. Whizlabs

Whizlabs quiz is too tough, i generally scored only 65%.

I feel if we have taken scbcd and scwcd we will find it a bit easier to take up the exam.

But above all this exam is the toughest one i have taken. Did not go to gym for the past two weeks!!!

Thanks and Regards,
Muhilan

Hi All,
I am planning to start my preparation for scdjws. I have the RMH book.
I have also downloaded the jwsdp-2_0. Please suggest a suitable app server which i can use to test sample programs. Also please suggest as to how long it will take to prepare for this exam? I have no prior experience in web service .

Thanks in advance.
