Hi,

Gopi Chella wrote:you should have central repository under repositories tag in pom.xml

Sorry but you shouldn't define repositories in the pom nor maven central, cause Maven already know about it.

The problem here is, there are used dependencies from Eclipse (equinox etc.) which are not in Maven Central available.

This can be read here: http://wiki.eclipse.org/EclipseLink/Maven

Furthermore to use Maven in real life it is really recommended to use a repository manager (Archiva, Artifactory or Nexus) which helps solving such problems in more comfortable way.

Hi,

the best approach for such purposes is to use the maven-shade-plugin which exactly creates such things.

simple setup extracted from the docs:

The maven-assembly-plugin is also able to create such a jar which contains all dependencies.

You can use a configuration like this:

But the support for a jar-with-dependencies is basic as described in the docs.

So i would recommend to use the maven-shade-plugin cause it will give a large number of options to control the resulting jar file etc.

Are you using the embedded Maven or do you have configured to use an external Maven ? Which Version of Eclipse and Maven are you using?

Have you set JAVA_HOME to JDK not JRE...?

Hi,

you should usually use Team-Update to HEAD....

This will get the changes made by others from the Repository into your working copy and will inform you if you need to merge changes with others...

Hi,

you have to configure the compiler plugin to use 1.5...

<build>
[...]
<plugins>
<plugin>
<groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId>
<artifactId>maven-compiler-plugin</artifactId>
<version>2.1</version>
<configuration>
<source>1.5</source>
<target>1.5</target>
</configuration>
</plugin>
</plugins>
[...]
</build>

Take a look here:
http://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-compiler-plugin/examples/set-compiler-source-and-target.html
