Hi,

I am planning to take up the OCMJEA architect exam.
I have already prepared for the part 1 Exam but i cannot take up the exam without taking up one of the mandatory training provided by Oracle as listed in the below link.
https://education.oracle.com/oracle-certified-master-java-ee-6-enterprise-architect/trackp_212
I have decided to take up the Java EE 7: New Features 2 day live class which is the cheapest among all the mandatory training which costs 21000 inr.
Problem is the class is available only on april 11, and that too is not confirmed because oracle needs atleast 2 people to provide the training and they told me if there are 2 or more people planning to take the live class on an earlier date they will even consider providing the classes earlier.
Please let me know if anyone is interested so we can enroll and complete the step 1 of mandatory training and then start preparing for the part 1 exam.

thanks.

Hi guys
Does anyone know how to redirect the System.out.println statements to the console instead of the default server.log file.

I tried changing the value from false to true for "print-to--console" element in the domain.xml but still no go.

Thank you in advance.
I am able to access a stateless ejb from a servlet through jndi look up but the same ejb changed into a stateful ejb and accessed by the same servlet throws a ClassCastException.

The same works fine in glassfish.

Please help.

And with all the cases the Dependency injection works fine in glassfish but in jboss it is throwing nullpointer exception.
yes vitesse it is correctly deployed. I am using the orielly workbook exmaples which uses a standalone client which does a jndi lookup to acces the ejb's and it works just fine. But the same code is not working through a servlet or through an @EJB annotation.
Thank you for replying
I have got the latest jboss setup and working.

I am trying to access an ejb from a servlet through the @EJB annotation like
@EJB MyEjbRemote ref; //which is the remote interface

But in the service method when i access the reference ref it is initialized with null value.

I have the remote interface and the implementing bean class properly compiled and jarred up as a .jar file in the jboss deploy folder.

Where am i going wrong here?. I am stuck with this all day now.

Please help
Hi Guys
I am really confused as to which directory service(DS) is used internally by the ejb containers. For example say in jboss we use the jndi api to access the container managed objects, but where do these objects come from? in which DS are these objects registered in?.

Hey buddy
Relax man. The scjp exam is not that tough. I wrote the exam just last week. The exam concentrates on all the aspects of the language. Even i was really confused about generics and collections. But in the exam there were only two questions about them and that too really simple ones. The rest is mostly syntax and thread based questions. I strongly suggest you to stop reading the book. It will do more bad than good at this point. All <edited by bu.>you</edited> gotta do now is search for scjp question papers only the free ones in google. Download and just solve them. Solve atleast a 1000 questions and you are ready.
Any doubts post a <edited by bu>message</edited> and i will reply.

Hey
If you planning to take up the scjp exam.
Firstly you need to plan your time schedule. Atleast 3-4 hrs of prep in a day for atleast 2-3 weeks before the exam.
Secondly buy yourself the scjp book and read it thoroughly over the time scheduled.
Thirdly google for scjp question papers which will mostly be in pdf formats.
Download them and solve atleast a 1000 questions.
Then take up the exam.
Best of luck.
Praveen(scjp).
Still got questions. Post a reply in your post and i will reply.
1 public String malkestring()
2 {
3 String s = "fred";
4 s = s + "47";
5 s = s.substring(2,5);
6 s= s.toUpperCase();
7
8 return s.toString();
9
10 }
11

Q. How many String objects are created?
A 1
B 2
C 3
D 4
E 5
F 6

The answer is given as c ie 3.

How can it be 3. According to the String class its objects are immutable.
So accordingly

Line 3: "fred" is one object
Line 4: "47" is one object
Line 4: "fred47" is one object
Line 5: "ed4" is one object
Line 6: "ED4" is one object

So Adding all together a total of 5 objects are created.

Please help me with this problem as to which is the right answer.
